As a Senior Test Officer for the Combat Systems Division I am

responsible for planning and executing test and evaluation programs on

a variety of materiel including complex Combat Vehicle/Direct Fire

Weapons Systems and their related munitions, fire control, target

acquisition, navigation, and communications subsystems. My

responsibilities include:

. Program management for the planning, execution, and reporting of

substantial multi-phase military test projects for a variety combat

vehicles and equipment utilizing a professional knowledge of

mechanical engineering.

. Coordinate projects with other engineers in other disciplines and

serve as a technical expert and engineering group leader with

responsibility for directing the project assignments of a group of

contractor, civilian, and military professional engineers who

support major projects.

. Provided engineering consulting on mechanical and electrical

systems and engineering processes involving integration, testing,

interoperability, and quality assurance to military customers, OEM

contractors, and team members for the enhancement of test

procedures, product testing, and safety.

. Serves as a project engineer in charge of complex weapons systems.

Assignments involve the most complex materiel and systems being

developed and may include many areas of investigation for which

techniques, instrumentation, and range facilities have not yet been

devised.

. Author test safety documentation including, standing operating

procedures (SOPs), test safety risk assessments, and safety

confirmations.

. Interact with product users regarding reliability/maintainability

improvements on fielded systems.

. Develop new data collection techniques and verify the quality and

accuracy of existing data collection procedures. Assigned programs

are involve the latest structural designs, materials and Combat

Vehicle Weapons Systems including related munitions and fire

control, target acquisition, navigation, and communications

subsystems.

. Plan and execute tests while practicing Earned Value Management and

optimizing assigned test budgets by monitoring cost, overtime use,

personnel utilization on test, maintaining control of the

expenditure of funds for construction/alteration of facilities,

procurement of materials/consumables, and acquisition of

instrumentation systems and devices.

. Evaluate the results of laboratory and field tests and prepare

comprehensive test reports of results and recommendations. Many of

the systems and sub-systems embody the latest state of-the-art

technology such as embedded electronics, new manufacturing

techniques and materials, and digitized full solution target

acquisition subsystems which require the development of novel

plans, new test methodology, and new instrumentation/data

acquisition systems in order to acquire necessary scientific data

to determine if the systems and subsystems perform their assigned

mission according to specifications or military needs.

. Assign work to team members indicating objectives and unusual

problems that may be expected and provides instructions related to

scheduling and budgeting matters and priorities.

. Participate in decisions to revise priorities to meet new urgent

needs considering impact of changes on other programs.

. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain

good working relations
