SUSQUEHANNA ASSOCIATION FOR THE BLIND AND VISION IMPAIRED (SABVI),

Station Manager (1997-2009): Managed all aspects of radio reading
service, from program development to daily operations. Planned and
maintained $90K annual budget. Supervised and trained 1-4 station staff
and 50+ volunteers. Interviewed all applicants for staff positions and
made recommendations. Selected 10+ volunteers per year for station.
Scheduled volunteers and staff weekly. Determined and/or developed all
phases of 7.5 hours of daily programming, from local news to book reading
to educational content. Used GoldWave audio editing software for audio
production and WireReady software for automation. Directed preparation of
materials for daily broadcasts in addition to those used in special
programming. Ensured local content was available daily via podcast using
PageMason webpage application software; utilized FileZilla to transfer
programs to podcast website. Completed client, phone, and discrepancy logs
and compiled and submitted monthly reports detailing information on
programming and volunteers. Developed and conducted annual survey to
monitor 1000+ member listener base. Acted as liaison with Tri-County Blind
Center. Followed ISO 9000 procedures.
Led growth of 1-county radio reading service into 5-county (Lancaster,
Lebanon, Dauphin, Perry, and Cumberland) radius.
Expanded local programming from 6 to 7.5 hours Monday through Friday and
from 7 to 12 hours weekends.
