E-SOCIETY : A java web portal

Description: It is an online application built using Java/JSP and MySql which enables

registered users to help share information with other members. It is a web application with

front end built in HTML/CSS and JavaScript for events like check/uncheck all and form

submit on edit image. There is a login Servlet which delegates to HomeServlet which in

turn connects to database and fetches posts shared with the user. The add/ edit/get

operations are synchronized to be thread safe. The synchronization is done on a singleton

object PostID .These PostID objects are cached in a WeakHashMap.The calls to check

whether PostID exists and to insert if get returns null are synchronized to ensure only one

object exists per PostID. This ensures only one thread can modify a particular post
