PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
In-depth knowledge of and vast experience on Artificial Intelligence (AI)
systems, Data mining, Time Series Prediction, SVM's, Decision Analysis,
Machine Vision and Machine Learning; Artificial Neural Networks (ANN's) in
particular. Predictive and decision supportive modeling of different
systems, especially very challenging and hard to predict ones, also
designing ANN's, and software coding of them. Various statistical and
algorithmic methods such as regression analysis, fuzzy systems, Bayesian
methods, decision trees, clustering, optimization, stochastic processes,
Markov Chains and HMM's.

MAJOR DATA SCIENCE PROJECTS
Artificial Neural Network Based Decisive Prediction Models on High
Frequency Financial Data. Atilim University, Modeling and Design of
Engineering Systems PhD. Program (January 2013 - )
I have been working on thesis as a PhD. student, and have been collecting
data, and building prediction models using the data so far. I presented the
paper entitled: "Which Financial Instrument is Technically more
Predictable?" at an international conference.
Radar Data Modeling. Turkish Air Force Command (January 2009 -)
I have been building various models using radar data for clutter analysis,
meteorological predictions, performance enhancement, etc. Using weather
predictions and meteorological data I achieved better predictions than the
official predictions.
Predictive Analysis on Natural Water Resources. Air Force Academy (January
2005 - August 2008)
I worked together with an associate professor from Istanbul University's
Environmental Engineering Department. I used the collected data to build
predictive models for rivers, lakes, etc. We had several papers published
in international journals and conferences.
Enhancement of pilot candidate selection process. Air Force Academy
(January 2002 - December 2006)
I supervised and worked as leading project officer to data mine and develop
an ANN based classification model for candidate selection for the academy
to enhance the pilot/cadet ratio. The ratio was brought to 2/3 from 1/3.

. Data mining and predictive modeling using radar and meteorology data.
Using weather predictions and meteorological data I achieved better
predictions than the official predictions. I used radar data for
clutter analysis, and to enhance the performance of air defense
radars.
. Big data analysis of various systems and databases including NATO ACCS
draft database.
. Project management and software development (C++, Ada) & maintenance
in Turkish Mobile Radar Complexes project, Air Defense Radar Network
and Air Defense Radio Network projects.
. I planned and managed various personnel training courses. I taught

. I developed automated trading software for Logos Software Company. In
which a code (with 2 different versions i.e. .NET and Java) was used
to call the API of a foreign exchange service provider (OANDA), and
execute real time trades of various currency pairs. In this project I
used Matlab to read and analyze financial data, and .NET suite/Java to
execute trades, and store the currency data in MySQL database. The
application was running on Windows; Matlab was reading data from
MySQL, and the operation was running 24 hours during weekdays
executing real time transactions and managing the balance.
. Supervision of many student projects such as "Java Based AI Games",
"Aircraft Classification Using Image Processing and AI", etc.
. Ownership, design and maintenance of an internet site that gave daily
advice and stock picks for Istanbul Stock Exchange Market using AI
models between the years 2001 and 2007.
. System administration, user support and help desk functions of the
academy's computer networks with 2 personnel under my supervision.
. I planned and managed network projects including a major upgrade of
the whole network from 2Mbps Frame Relay to 34Mbps ATM. With this
upgrade, the Air Force Academy had the largest bandwidth among the
other military academies then.
