Eight plus years of experience covering the areas of data validation,

data analysis, pilot plant operations support, steady state simulation

of gasification, CO-shift, sour water stripping, H2S removal, sulfur

recovery, methanol synthesis, and flue gas treating processes along

with production supervision of batch process operations. Hands on

experience in simulation and validation of chilled ammonia based CO2

absorption and regeneration process, developing PFD's, working with

P&ID's, performing heat and material balances for plant data, and

EXPERIENCE

Process Development Engineer - Alstom Power, Knoxville, Tennessee

(Feb'11-Present)

Core member of Alstom's chilled ammonia CO2 capture- R&D execution

team.

Accomplishments:

. Monitor the process remotely through PI, identify key parameters and

report any deviations from the set target.

. Analyze raw data based on stability criteria produced from chilled

ammonia CO2 capture demonstration plant, Mongstad Norway.

. Perform heat and material balances around key individual unit

operations in excel for selected stable periods.

. Provide suggestions to improve CO2 capture efficiency and reduce

ammonia emissions to stack.

. Lead daily meetings with onsite crew, develop test matrix and test

plan for further testing to optimize the process.

. Present the test results in weekly meeting to the management and

client.

. Optimize overall steam demand (GJ/mTCO2) of chilled ammonia CO2

capture process.

. Perform water wash column sensitivity analysis and provide optimum

Liquid/Gas ratio for the column.

. Validate direct contact cooler, absorber, and water wash stripper

system in Aspen Plus using the reconciled data from Mongstad

(Norway) and AEP Mountaineer chilled ammonia CO2 capture

demonstration plants.

. Simulate the rate based CO2 absorption process in PPS (Procede

Process Simulation) software and compare the results with Aspen Plus

equilibrium based modeling results.

. Involve in developing single absorber flow scheme and provide

simulation support for testing the flow scheme in V xj, Sweden

pilot plant.

. Technical knowledge of gas-liquid contactors, scrubbers, absorbers,

water-wash columns, strippers, heat exchangers, and solvent

regeneration unit.

Process Development Engineer - Alstom Power, Mongstad, Norway (Jan'13-

July'13)

. Short term international assignment in Norway to provide onsite

process validation support to chilled ammonia CO2 capture

demonstration project.

. Process the raw data and develop stability sheets for all the key

parameters of the process.

. Perform mass and energy balances around main unit operations of the

process for the identified stable periods.

. Assist in modification of piping network for manual gas sampling and

calibration of Opsis CO2 gas analyzers.

. Develop weekly reports covering the highlights of operation results

and present them to the customer and management.

. Provide input to the technical reports and intermediate reports due

to the client.

. Two days of rigorous safety training on site. Received the training

certificate on successful completion of test.

Process Development Engineer - Alstom Power, V xj, Sweden (Aug'12-

Jan'13)

. Short term international assignment in Sweden to provide onsite

support to the chilled ammonia CO2 capture pilot plant testing on

gas applications as well as for packing performance testing series.

. Process the raw data and develop correlations for correcting the raw

data by applying process and instruments errors.

. Perform major instrument verification tests along with calibration

checks on CO2 and NH3 Opsis analyzers.

. Develop good understanding on liquid analysis methods of FTIR and

titration.

. Perform material balance around the absorption system; evaluate CO2

capture efficiency and NH3 emissions.

. Provide operations support by planning the tests for next day and

estimating the required liquid make-up rates.

. Compare the performances and recommend the best packing from the

packing performance tests conducted on four different packing's

(Fenix, Montz, Zehua, and Koch Glich) on the basis of CO2 capture

efficiency, pressure drop, and NH3 emissions.

. Analyze the results and prepare the test summary reports.

Engineer I - WorleyParsons, Reading, Pennsylvania (Oct'07-Feb'11)

Project Feasibility Group - Responsible for feasibility studies for

post combustion and integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC)

projects related to power production as well as SNG production.

Projects:

. Coal to Methanol to Gasoline - The conceptual study involved

development of coal-to-methanol-to-gasoline plants combined with

heat recovery and power generation.

. Simulation of Coal gasification, syngas clean up, carbon capture,

methanol synthesis and methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) process in Aspen

Plus simulation software.

. Develop PFD's and prepared heat and material balances from the

process model.

. Estimate the plant performance based on the results generated from

integrated steam cycle Aspen Plus model.

. Analyze two cases: 100wt% coal as one feedstock and 70wt% coal and

30wt% biomass as the other.

. Calculate MTG gasoline greenhouse gas emission profiles based on the

excel model developed by NETL and compare the economic feasibility

of the MTG gasoline to the petroleum derived gasoline.

. Tenaska Taylorville IGCC, Illinois - The project involved treatment

of raw gas downstream of the gas scrubbing unit of Tenaska SNG- IGCC

plant with 35 wt% MDEA (Methyl diethanol amine) solvent to remove

the H2S present in the raw gas down to 15ppmv.

. Model the single stage H2S removal MDEA unit in ProMax modeling

software.

. Prepare heat and material balances along with equipment list from

the process model results.

. Gas Atacama, Chile - Conceptual study on IGCC equipped with CO2

capture to produce synthetic natural gas (SNG) from Magallenes coal

of southern Chile.

. Develop Aspen Plus model for Shell gasification, water gas shift,

and methanation process.

. Develop the steam cycle model in Aspen Plus and calculate over all

plant performance.

. Develop PFD's and prepare material balances for the process.

. EPRI Study, Australia - Feasibility study of IGCC plants on two coal

sources: brown and black coal of Australia

. Model Shell gasification process in Aspen Plus and compare the

performance of the two coal sources with and without carbon capture.

. Carbon capture case involved two-stage Selexol unit to remove the

acid gas and CO2. Non-carbon capture case involved amine guard

process to remove the acid gas.

. Southern California Edison, Utah - Pre-front-end engineering and

design (FEED) study on two technologies ultra-super critical

pulverized coal (USCPC) and IGCC.

. Involve in the selection of best technology for the study from the

performance and modeling results.

. USCPC involves combustion calculations and process modeling of mono-

ethanol amine-based post-combustion carbon capture in ProMax.

. IGCC involves selection from five preferred gasification vendors

COP, MHI, Siemens, GE, and Shell.

. Develop detail process model of downstream gasification involving

water gas-shift, low temperature gas-cooling, Claus plant, and sour

water stripping in Aspen Plus simulation software with the vendor

given gasification boundary limit information.

. Develop PFD's and prepare material balances and equipment list for

all the cases of the study.

Simulation Engineer - TRAX LLC., Lynchburg, Virginia (March'07- Oct'07)

. Jeffrey Power Plant - Prepare process model schematics from the

P&ID's data using ProTRAX software.

. Develop schematics for Flue gas desulphurization model.

. Sherco Power Plant - Prepare balance-of-plant, boiler, and

electrical models in ProTRAX.

Assistant Process Engineer - Alkali Metals Ltd., Hyderabad, India (Aug'03-

Oct'04)

. Supervise the process operations of sodium azide and amino pyridines

production plant.

. Assist senior process engineer in trouble shooting the plant

operations.

. Develop process flow diagrams (PFD) for the reaction and

purification section of the plant.

. Optimize the reaction time of sodium azide from 24 hours to 18 hours
