Resume:

Make Chan

Drexel Grad student

Philadelphia, PA

aceotf@r.postjobfree.com - 267-***-****

I am currently toward my Master degree in Chemical Engineering with Engineering and Project Management

sequence. I had experience on polymer formulation, materials characterization, product innovation, testing,

and development. I also deal with process standardization and optimization. Besides above, I worked on a

project related to build the simulation model to verify the process feasibility and novel bioreactor. I enjoy working

both independently and interdependently. Therefore I’m actively seeking the position that I can both contribute

myself and complement the team.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Innovation Chemical Engineering internship

Nike. Inc - Taiwan - September 2013 to March 2014

Responsibilities

- Development of novel performance footwear product.

- Foam/Rubber technology and polymer formulations.

- Design of Experiments. (Minitab)

- Processing of polymer compounds (injection molding, extrusion, kneading, milling...etc.)

- Macro and micro polymer characterization. (Rheometer, SEM, Hotstage microscopy, Differential Scanning

Calorimetry (DSC), Instron…etc.)

- Processes standardization and optimization.

- Aligned with innovation team and connected with global partner teams to evolve tasks through group genius

via project management principles.

Accomplishments

Finished various DOEs and determined the optimized formula and process conditions.

Found the trend for increasing product performance via Rheometer data.

Proposed possible solutions to enhance product performance.

Case Western Reserve University - Cleveland, OH - May 2010 to January 2011

- Collaborated with Dr. Baskaran and senior graduate student to complete a project titled “An in vitro model of

tissue-engineered skin substitute with integrated flow networks in a perfusion bioreactor.”

- Developed an adhesion technique utilizing albumin/glutaraldehyde bio-adhesives to bond collagen-based

scaffolds and apply bio-adhesive to obtain closed flow networks in a collagen-glycosaminoglycan composite.

- Assisted senior researchers in making collagen solution used with collagen-based scaffolds for cell culture.

Co-Op Project Participant

Marathon Oil - Canton, OH - January 2010 to May 2010

Analyzed production process by comparing two process

simulation software Hysys and ChemCAD.
