Summary
Among my 25 years of administrative experience I am looking to obtain a position that will progressively

WORK EXPERIENCE
Food Service Assistant
September 2011 – present
Prince George’s County Public Schools
Prepare and assist in preparation of salads, side dishes, sandwiches, and other foods and beverages served in
the cafeteria. I improved the presentation of salads and sides, therefore, increasing sales and persuading
students to eat more vegetables.
Properly stock counters and carts with food, plates, utensils and condiments; and serve food and beverages to
the students and faculty.
Responsible for running the cash register, collecting monies, and maintaining an accurate account of cash
received and lunches served. I took the initiative to work with my supervisor to learn the procedures of
opening and closing the register and computer system on a daily basis.
Another part of my responsibilities were to receive and unpack supplies and store items in the appropriate
areas.
Administrative Assistant
January 2003 – October 2008
Environmental Industry Association (EIA) Waste Management, Washington, DC
I served as the liaison to four individuals working out-of-state and also worked to support the Director of
State Programs in overseeing the entire progressive operation.
Managed and prepared small and large mailings; broadcast faxing; filing; and accounting. Also coordinated
meetings and distributed notices.
I notified upper management regarding current events in the waste industry, and set up internet accounts for
access to this information.
I was solely responsible for the daily research of the internet to compile articles related to the waste industry
and distributed the information through a global e-mail to the members of the organization.
I compiled and recorded publications to update various organizations on valid safety measures to ensure
safety was enforced at all times.
I was liable for creating multiple safety CDs and creating a storage area for all publications, which included
maintaining stock of all items, therefore, increasing sales to improve efficiency in the distribution of orders.

Senior Program Assistant

I was promoted to this position to provided technical and administrative support to the Standards and
Technology staff.
Duties included: answering phones; schedule appointments; prepare correspondence; and record-keeping.
Maintained timekeeping and leave records; handled e-mail and fax request from the general public and
members.
Designed and maintained websites and databases for various committees; recorded changes and ran reports.
Updated publication catalogs with new items for distribution to members and the general public.
Served as principal liaison to the Finance Department by making sure all expense reports, timesheets, and
invoices were reported in a timely manner.

Standards Department/Measurement Coordination
I provided secretarial and administrative support to the staff and industry committee.
Responsibilities included: typing; editing; general dictation; proofreading and distributing of meeting
minutes.
I prepared materials for bi-annual meetings and tracked ballot returns.
Reviewed and verified departmental expense reports; and maintained committee rosters. Scheduled
conference calls; travel arrangements; logged, screened, and distributed mail, and assisted with the
completion of the membership newsletter.
Assisted with meeting arrangements including recording advance registration; preparing and shipping on-site
meeting materials; traveled and attended meetings to assist with on-site preparations and registration.
In distributing meeting notices to the membership, it was discovered that members were not receiving
information, so I reviewed and updated all membership rosters and mailing addresses so we could resend the
notices. Within a two week period, registrations increased and I received a $500 bonus and a promotion to
Senior Program Assistant.
