Professional Experience
Comverse Inc., (formerly DGM&S), Mt. Laurel, NJ
Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead, 3GPP Diameter Protocol and
Applications (2007-2014)
. Diameter SMS Online Charging Capability in LTE Network: Successfully led
a group of developers across 6 subsystems to implement the OCS Online
Charging capability for SMS in the LTE network.
. Established an effective project management system to manage the
development efforts and track the progress and completeness of each and
every stage of the development cycle. The project management system had
been highly recognized by the development managers and referred to other
technical leads as a model for other feature development projects.
. Diameter OCS Performance Benchmarking: Led the efforts on configuring the
essential test environment of Diameter Client and multi-node OCS Diameter
Server to facilitate the Diameter load testing and the Proof of Concept
(POC) activity of integrating the Oracle RAC to the Comverse BSS system,
and successfully achieved the benchmarking of the BSS system performance.
. Development of Diameter Dictionaries: Defined and implemented in XML the
3GPP standard and vendor-specific variants of Diameter Credit Control
Application Dictionaries. The accomplished projects included the 3GPP
32.299 Release 8/9 and 10 compliant Dictionaries, and the vendor specific
variants to support the interface to the Ericsson and Huawei GGSNs.
. Development of Diameter Service Logic Element (SLE): Designed and
implemented the Diameter SLE add-on modules to mediate the Diameter Ro
and Gy interface CCR/CCA AVPs to populate the Charging Factors for the
OCS online charging server. The success of the projects expanded the
capability of the Comverse-ONE to support the Diameter charging
capability for the 3GPP applications, including LTE IMS/SMS/PS (Flow
base), MMS and Voice call application. The SLEs were implemented in C++
and XML.
. Miscellaneous Diameter Projects: Developed Comverse ONE Diameter Charging
Interface documents for IMS, SMS, MMS applications. Designed and
implemented Diameter training courses for Project Management and Customer
Support engineers. Analyzed and provided solutions for customer reported
issues.
. Enhancement of Diameter Gateway Unit (DGU): Contributed the development
effort to the implementation of the DGU with the capability of run-time
dynamic configuration of the Peers and Routes to the Diameter Client and
the OCS Nodes.
Project Engineer, IVRU for BSS Prepaid Systems (1997-2006)
Responsible for design, implementation and training.
. IVRU Interface Modules: Designed and implemented the Intelligent
Peripheral platform IVRU interface modules to facilitate the IVR
functionality of the PPS using the Comverse MMU/MSU IVRU subsystems.
. Language Test Tool (LTT): Designed and implemented the IVRU LTT to enable
the Telephony User Interface language development group to independently
and effectively test the prompts and announcements of multiple languages
for the PPS system. Responsibility included the set-up of the LTT test
systems and conducted training sessions at both US and off-shore
facilities. Demonstrated the ability of working in a global environment.
