ESP Inc, Mountain View, CA
Feb 1993 - Aug 1995
Software Engineer
ESP is the leading provider of industry-focused environmental management
information systems. ESP provides integrated software solutions that
increase productivity and environmental controls for energy, electric
utilities, aerospace, defense industries.
As a key member, designed and developed an ODBC compliant database
application. The application manages emission allowance for electric
utilities including allocation, trade, sale and purchases from the EPA. The
application records and maintains all the financial transaction associated
with the trade. The client server application was designed to work with
Oracle, Sybase 10, MS SQL server, dBase, Paradox and uses Crystal reports
for reporting.
Developed a Benefits Assessment Software package to calculate the return on
Investment for EPRI (Electric power Research Institute) clients for
sponsored R&D projects.
Developed GUI for an application using is the high level GUI development
and portability tool GUILD (Graphical User Interface Language for
Developers).
Evaluated the real-time distributed process monitoring and control system
GUI tool FactoryLink .
Electric power Research Institute (EPRI), Palo Alto, CA
Jul 1990 - Jan 1993
Software Engineer
Evaluated different software tools (XVT, GUILD, DMACS) to develop GUI
applications on MS-Windows.
Designed and developed GUI applications using GUILD. The GUI applications
were developed on Microsoft Windows using GUILD and then ported to OS/2
and Mac platforms. Developed GUILD based GUI's for existing DOS based
applications.
Designed and developed GUI applications using DMACS (Distributed
Manufacturing Automation And Control Software) for Windows. DMACS, a real-
time distributed process monitoring and control system was used to create
the Graphical User Interface for EPRI's Plant Monitoring Workstation.
Center for Development of Telematics (C-Dot), New Delhi, India

Software Engineer
CDOT developed Electronic Digital Switching System (EDSS).
Involved in the design and development of the Database subsystem for the
EDSS, including Architecture design, documentation, coding, testing,
debugging, integration and performance tuning.
As part of the team developed real time software in C on VAX/VMS, and
compiled using 68000 series cross compiler and the compiled module was
ported to the 68020 based real time embedded Electronic Digital Switching
System.
Developed Automatic Data Generation tool using AI techniques in PROLOG.
Used C-ISAM for Atomic Data manipulation of the subscriber's data on UNIX
systems.
Worked as a Release coordinator for the Database subsystem, maintaining
source through CASE tools, CMS (Code Management System) on VAX/VMS and SCCS
(Source Code Control System) on UNIX., building the subsystem module using
cross compilers, and preparing the release.
Member of the Integration Task Force for integrating various subsystems,
and done regression testing using in house developed CASE tools. Performed
system trouble shooting at the Exchange field trails.
