PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Structural Department Director, Project Manager, Structural Engineer of Record and for several
data center facilities, higher education facilities, institutional and industrial facilities.
Preparation of proposals, contract documents, structural design calculations, coordination of
structural documents with architectural and owner requirements, and construction
administration. Managed and mentored a staff of engineers and technicians for a variety of
engineering projects. Experience includes coordination with many different trades, engineering
disciplines, products, and materials. Responsible for project staffing, scheduling and budgets.

Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, State of North Carolina,

PROJECT EXPERENCE
2011 - 2013, University of Virginia Alderman Phase III and IV student housing; Charlottesville,
Virginia. Structural Engineer of Record for three student housing buildings. Structural systems
for each of these structures consist of five story reinforced masonry and reinforced concrete
bearing wall structures supporting precast concrete floors.
2010 - 2011, Germanna Community College Facility 3; Fredericksburg, Virginia. Structural
Engineer of Record for 51,000 S.F. three story structural steel frame structure. I was
responsible for the structural steel building frame and foundation design for this str ucture. This
design includes the structural steel roof framing, steel - concrete composite floor system, steel
columns and steel brace frames.
2009 - 2010, Virginia State University Howard Quad Phase 1 Dormitory; Petersburg, Virginia.
Structural Engineer of Record for 55,000 S.F. four story cold-formed steel bearing structure.
Responsible for designing the structural support framing and foundations for this structure.
2009 - 2010, Virginia Military Institute Firing Range; Lexington, Virginia. Structural Engineer of
Record for 23,000 S.F. single story structure with a saw tooth roof. The interior structural steel
roof trusses have a depth of 8'-0" and span 78' between steel columns. I was responsible for
designing the structural steel roof framing, exterior CMU walls and foundations.
2008 - 2009, George Mason University Data Center; Fairfax, Virginia. Structural Engineer of
Record for 55,000 S.F. three story structural steel frame structure. I was responsible for the
preparation and coordination of structural construction documents. This design includes the
structural steel roof framing, steel - concrete composite floor system, steel columns and steel
brace frames.
2006 - 2008, The Meadow State Fair of Virginia; Caroline County Virginia. Structural Engineer of
Record for the foundation design of several pre-engineered metal buildings; Horticulture
Building – 10,000 SF & Exhibition Building - 77,000 SF
2006 - 2008, Boar’s Head Inn Meeting Pavilion; Charlottesville, Virginia. Structural Engineer of
Record and SMEP Project Manager for 17,000 SF, $10 million facility to include 5,500 SF
ballroom. Structure consists of steel framing with special steel roof joist, cold form steel
trusses, cold form and masonry bearing walls.
2005 - 2006, Loudoun Middle School MS – 4 at Loudoun Valley Estates. Structural Engineer of
Record for a 168,000 SF structure with steel roof framing and masonry bearing walls.
2004, Memorial Regional Medical Center Medical Office Building 3; Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Structural Design Engineer for a 56,000 SF two-story steel framed structure with steel
composite floors. The structure was designed for a future vertical expansion for a total of six
stories. Preparation and coordination of the structural construction d ocuments and preformed
the structural construction administration.
2002 - 2003, Klockner Pentaplast of America, Inc. Calendar Lines #25 and #26; Rural Retreat,
Virginia. Structural Project Engineer for an Industrial manufacturing plant for plastic film.
Structure consists of steel frame, metal wall panels supported by steel girts & interior masonry
walls. Most of the structure is a single story with high ceilings; however, part of the production
area is three stories with composite floors and a basement area with cast in place reinforced
concrete walls.
2000 - 2001, Dollar Tree Southeast Distribution Center; Savannah, Georgia. Structural Project
Engineer for 600,000 SF steel framed facility with site cast tilt up reinforced concrete wall
panels. Foundations consist of precast piles & pile caps/grade beams.
1998 - 1999, Manakin Trade Center – West Creek; Goochland Co., Virginia. Structural Project
Engineer for a 45,000 SF conventional steel framed single-story flex office/warehouse facility.
1998, Mead Addition to Distribution Facility; Chillicothe, Ohio. Structural Project Engineer for
124,000 SF steel framed facility with precast concrete wall panels. The roof design including
design provisions for cable tray support.
1996 -1997, Heilig Meyers Headquarters Office Building; Goochland, Virginia (property
currently Federal Reserve Office) Structural Design Engineer for a 225,000 SF six-story steel
framed structure with steel composite floors. Structural steel wall framing supporting
architectural precast and brick veneer. Preparation and coordination of the structural
construction documents and preformed the structural construction administration.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
