Contract position with Imperial Irrigation District in Imperial, California. Provided Oracle
Database Administration and Application development in a data warehouse environment.
Designed, developed and implemented several custom Windows based Client/Server
applications as required using various Oracle Developer tool sets and PL/SQL. Developed
numerous custom reports using Oracle Reports and Graphs and Crystal Reports. Created and
maintained batch processes using Unix scripts and PL/SQL. Imported and maintained historical
data from legacy systems into the data warehouse and developed user interfaces to this data.
Designed, developed and implemented a customer tracking system in compliance with the
Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Performed several database upgrades from Oracle v7.1.1 on
an SCO Unix platform to Oracle v9.2 on Sun Solaris 5.9. Assisted the client in the selection,
installation and configuration of a new land management application system (Govern) utilizing
Oracle for the back end. Provided Oracle support and training (SQL) to client staff. Assisted
client with ad-hoc queries and SQL tuning.

Maintained legacy Financial Aid system (SAFERS) written primarily in COBOL on an HP 3000
mini computer environment running MPE. Worked closely with F.A. technical liaison to design,
develop and implement custom applications on this platform using COGNOS Powerhouse
development tools. Began beta testing Datatel, Inc. new multi-location functionality of its
Colleague v. 14.0 integrated student system in 1996. Completed data conversion from the legacy
Financial Aid system and the migration of the remaining student system data from Colleague
12.8 to Datatel’s new Colleague product v. 14.1 in the Unidata database environment on
December 1, 1997. At the same time, migrated from an HP 9000 platform running HP Unix to
an IBM RS/6000 model F50 running AIX 4.3. Design, develop and implement new custom
applications utilizing Datatel’s Envision CASE tool set and UniBasic. One of five founding
members of the University’s first IT Council. The primary goal of the Council was to improve
communication both within the Department and externally to the University community.

Project Leader for the installation and development of an Oracle v7.1 Data Warehouse. Worked
with Oracle consultant to: 1) Install Oracle v7.1 RDBMS on an SCO Unix server. 2) Used
CASE methodology to design and implement the data warehouse. 3) Developed Client/Server
applications under Windows 3.1 using SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Forms 4.5, Reports 2.5 and Graphics
2.5. 4) Performed Oracle DBA responsibilities including file system and tablespace
management, monitored database segmentation, performance monitoring and tuning, managed
user accounts, monitored database access and security and database backup and recovery. 5)
Developed and implemented methodologies to access data from the legacy systems.
Supervised Computer Services staff of three. Responsible for all Local Area Network and Wide
Area Network services and support for 100 pc’s in five Novell 3.1 and 3.12 networks. Service
and support included purchase, installation, configuration, maintenance, help desk and training
for all pc hardware and software. Acted as liaison between my Departments’ Managers to
assimilate data required for decision support.
Performed System Administration duties on an IBM RS/6000 Model 530 running ESRI Arc/Info
under AIX and also on a Prime 9755 running Medusa and Info under PRIMOS.

records through various pc based applications. Assisted engineers by writing custom programs

Responsible for all Department disaster damage assessment and recovery documentation.
Assisted FEMA representatives during the audit stage of disaster recovery.
Acted as on-site clerical coordinator and assisted with inspections during the construction of two
hydroelectric plants between April 1983 and August 1984.
