Objectives:
To continually develop and oversee the running of all routine and non-routine analytical testing performed
inside the lab. To understand and interpret information received from the analysis and provide status
update reports.
Scope of position:
This position must demonstrate expertise in all aspects of the work and the ability to project and/or
resolve complicated problems. Must be able to manage a large amount of information with absolute
accountability. The ability to handle and influence direction and input from multiple areas. Act as a key QA
person responsible for the incoming acceptance or rejection of raw materials.
Task elements:
To write and update all applicable SOP's. Organize and prioritize all laboratory testing.
Determine the accuracy of the paper work associated with the testing processes.
Recognize process and equipment problems and have the experience to eliminate them.
Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, and outlook. Good knowledge of laboratory terminology both
techniques and procedures commonly used in the analysis of food and other related products.
Experience in quantifying vitamins and nutrient content in food following standard procedure and testing
method.
Continually develop and maintain the high level of accuracy necessary for testing procedures.
Communicate with all departments/interpret deviation from the accepted practices.
Good in math and computer skills and have some mechanical ability to understand and troubleshoot lab
equipment’s such as GF-AAS, ICP-MS, HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS and FT-IR method and collect
environmental samples and hazardous waste materials for analysis and chemical handling/storage .
Write/Recommend new sampling and testing procedures and monitor department expenses and provide
cost saving measures.
Train Lab Technicians and implement all safety process and administrative rules and regulations with in
the laboratory.
Training and certification:
Trained on ICP-MS, GF-AAS, LCMS, HPLC, GCMS, FT-IR, microwave digestion and titration method.
Environmental samples such as water, waste product and swabbing for metals analysis, TSS, BOD, COD
MLSS and alkalinity analysis for activated sludge process under Kalama Chemicals Inc.
CPR, First Aid, ERT and AED certified. Safety committee member and knowledge of cGMP and GLP
practices.
