OBJECTIVE
To become a full time employee as a mechanical engineer with an emphasis on designing, product development,
fabrication, manufacturing and problem solving with real world applications
EDUCATION
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering December 2013
University of Hawai‘i at Manoa (UHM)
Senior Year GPA: 3.53/4.0 Major GPA: 3.27/4.0
Dean’s List: Fall 2012
EXPEREINCE
Project Engineer
Hawthorne Cat (Power Systems)
February 2014 – Present
Waipahu, Hawaii
Responsible for overseeing installation and commissioning of standby and prime power generator sets including
site audits, commissioning, start up, testing and providing training on operation, maintenance and use of systems
Work extensively with the sales engineers to prepare and review engineering submittals and develop startup and
load bank test plan for the technicians for Caterpillar power generation systems
Revise electrical and mechanical drawings of Caterpillar generators and Automatic Transfer Switches using
AutoCAD. Types of work included reviewing and drafting wiring schematics, conduit plans, installation, layout
drawings and center of gravity calculations
Engineering Intern
Hawthorne Cat June 2013 - December 2013
Waipahu, Hawaii
Developed and prepared submittals and operation, maintenance manual for the Caterpillar generator systems.
Provided engineering calculations for the submittals based on the specifications produced by the customers
Assisted the engineers with mechanical and electrical installation 2D drafting drawings using AutoDesk
Suspension Developer
SAE International Formula Vehicle Design Competition (Senior Design) August 2012 - May 2013
University of Hawai‘i at Manoa
Placed 1st out of 9 teams in the Francis Montgomery Design Presentation
Designed suspension control A-arms, did structural analysis hand calculations on the control arms based on the
loading conditions (1.5g braking & turning), ran finite element analysis for the car in SolidWorks to achieve a
desirable factor of safety (1.3) for high performance race vehicle
Designed and analyzed suspension kinematics geometry (camber, caster, roll center etc.) in LOTUS software
which allowed the race car driver corner faster
Worked with the team of 14 people and managed the subsystem of 4 people to procure parts and fabricated the
suspension components along with integrating with the other sub-systems
Undergraduate Research Assistant –In line Cell Gene Transfer using Ultrasound
University of Hawai‘i at Manoa - John A. Burns School of Medicine January 2013 - May 2013
Led a team of 4 students to develop a bioreactor prototype, complete with a micro fluidics flow loop for the
purpose of demonstrating effectiveness of continuous transfect ion via High Intensity Focuses Ultrasound (HIFU)
mediated intraphagosomal sonoporation
Designed in SolidWorks and 3D printed a coupling device that interfaced the HIFU at a focal length of 12 mm
according to the design specification to the flow loop which will measure the transfect ion efficiency (70% -90%)
for future research
Engineering Team Intern
Hawaii Energy Consultant October 2011 - January 2012
Worked in a renewable energy consulting firm focused in the solar photovoltaic systems to minimize electricity
bills and provide efficient energy
Designed 80 solar panels array layout for Waimalu Park Condominium in SolidWorks where each panel had the
power consumption of 100 watt, which decreased the building’s electricity bill to approximately $400 per month
Mechanical Subsystem Leader
International CANSAT Competition June 2010 - June 2011
Kapi’olani Community College
Placed 14th internationally out of 23 Universities
Designed a lightweight (ABS Plastic) and cost efficient (3D print) frame in SolidWorks
Analyzed, hand calculated and built the descent control and split mechanism system for the satellite which
allowed the structure to detach from each other in 5 seconds upon it’s ejection from the rocket
Mechanical Assistant Team member & Lead Technician
International MATE Underwater Remotely Operated Competition May 2009 - June 2010
Kapi’olani Community College
Placed 7th internationally out of 25 Universities
Fabricated and manufactured the manipulating arm powered by a brushed DC Rule brand bilge pump for its
submersible design and fully functional data retrieval vehicle
Designed and tested a vacuum powered hose powered by a 12 VDC, Rule bilge pump that was routed underneath
the manipulator to meet the design specifications for the competition such as the design allowed the suction pump
to collect ten fishing lures under 30 seconds
SKILLS
SolidWorks Machining (Mill, Lathe, Mig weld, Basic Strong social skills and team
hand tools, Sheet Metal fabrications) management
AutoDesk-Inventor
Kinematics Analysis Software for Multilingual
AutoCAD
automotive suspension (LOTUS) (English, Bengali, Hindi)
MatLab
