Description of the Project:

Kraft foods Inc. is an American Grocery manufacturing and processing

conglomerate. On 1 October 2012, Kraft Foods Inc. split into

confections business which was taken over by a new company called

Mondel?z International, Inc. and North American grocery business

taken over by a new company called Kraft Foods Group. It was required

to first upgrade the existing Hyperion Applications from V7 to v11 to

enable the Organization to potentially benefit from the latest

functionalities available in the new Version of Essbase. Later, it

was required to split each of the Applications by function and Parent

Company.

Responsibilities

Realized Complex Technical Upgrade of Essbase from v7.1.3 to

V11.1.2.1 across more than 20 production applications and 25

historical applications.

Migrated applications using migration utility and validation of the

objects and data in v11.This required validation and remediation of

existing calc scripts, load rules, report scripts and also creation

of reconciliation templates to verify the data.

Reformed and optimized the entire automation process of data loads,

running of scripts and nightly backups to suit the new server

landscape. This required in-depth understanding of the business

processes and functionality.

Suggested different security migration options for moving complete

security from V7 to v11

Migrated native essbase security/groups/privileges/filters via MaxL .

Requirements were gathered and Products were split between Grocery

The Capital Solutions Implementation project was an integration of 4

GE Business into one. This would help in one Consolidated Reporting

for Corporate Teams rather than looking into many individual reports

with partial data.

Responsibilities:

Suggested Transparent Partioning for Two Databases in Capital

Solutions as the cubes had very large size, as it was merger of 4

different businesses into one. Tested the different design options

(of dense-sparse settings, load time, calc time and Block density) to

get optimized performance.

Designed load rules, report scripts in Essbase to load and extract

data. Reduced execution time of reports by optimizing them.(from 3

hours to 10 minutes)

Designed HAL jobs to build metadata in Planning; built HAL exe's to

make the HAL jobs platform independent.

Automation of data movement process from one application to another,

created appworx Chain. The process was automated to move all level 0

and higher-level data from one application to the other.

Build the user interface (forms) for users; created 50+ webforms,

also giving right access to more than 600 users was very important.

Assigned access on the dimensions thus allowing users to only view

the data and metadata relevant to the business.

Single handedly managed and resolved all UAT issues and bugs (related

to data and metadata) as the technical person from onsite (3 months

Financial Services) and to finally send to Corporate.

It involved two Hyperion Applications -one to do the Variance

Analysis and Planning and the second to submit numbers to GE

Corporate.

cube to load data and extract numbers from Consolidation cube

Also modified existing Calc scripts of GE Corporate to meet the
