Job Duties:
. Served as receptionist- greets visitors, students, guest, answer multi-
line telephone and take messages, arrange appointments, etc.
. Serve as an administrative liaison with other entities on and off
campus.
. Provide secretarial services, such as typing documents
(correspondences, memos, proposals, and grants), organize and maintain
files, provide administrative assistance to students and faculty, etc.
. Work collaboratively with other staff, faculty members and other
departments to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
. Cross train new hires, part time faculty and students in all areas of
departmental functions.
. Arrange travel arrangements for faculty and guests (airline ticket,
lodging and rental car).
. Schedule and generally facilitate departmental meetings, seminars,
workshops and other sponsored activities.
. Record and transcribe all minutes for submission to chair and faculty
members.
. Order, maintain and secure basic instructional supplies, office
supplies and office equipment.
. Maintain a record of the department's expenditures and budget
balances, so orders maybe tracked and reconciled with other offices.
. Create and implement administrative instruments, such as surveys,
course schedules, laboratory assistance for faculty and instruments
for planning.
. Maintain all departmental information, such as staff and student
directories, classroom and graduate information; assist the department
in gathering the information as needed.
. Implement and process the documentation for laboratory assistance and
work study students.
. Retrieves and distributes mail from the department's box, other
departments and faxes.
. Work independently with little supervision.
. Perform and maintain office procedures as duties are needed.
. Conduct comprehensive research using a variety of resources to prepare
and complete, reports and other documentation.
