04/2004 -09/2008 Sr. Software Developer
Nielsen Media Research - Oldsmar, FL
My proudest accomplishments while employed at The Nielsen Company were a
PL/1-Fixed Decimal Overflow and SV7Q Card SAS/Java/JZOS interface projects
for which I received an "Employee Peer Recognition" award. In response to
IBM's release of its new Enterprise PL/1 compiler PL/1 programs were
scanned for variables defined as Fixed Decimal data to ensure they were
defined appropriately to prevent programs from abending with a "Fixed
Decimal Overflow" exception. The SV7Q Card SAS/Java/JZOS interface project
required a bridge between the JZOS UNIX Data Warehouse and MVS mainframe
environments which had not been performed prior to this project. Both of
these efforts proved valuable in that technical resources and man hours
were saved because possible system interruptions were identified and
adverted.
Saved resource man hours; by negotiating SAS license renewal agreements
.This was achieved through gathering, trouble shooting and reporting SAS
software issues, working directly with System
Developed OS/MVS applications using SAS v9/base/macros/connect/DB2-SQL and
MS SQL mainframe host data was extracted to produce data models, maps and
generate forecast reports which assisted our clients in targeting their
advertising campaign revenue. Recommended and implemented source code
changes to several of the "Common Ant Builds" that were used to compile and
maintain Java/J2EE classes for our web base reporting applications and
other Enterprise Processing functions.
