WORK EXPERIENCE

Flat core assembler

Cogent - Burlington, ON - September 2013 to December 2013

When i was a flatcore assembler at Cogent i worked with a team to assemble large electrical transformer cores

to a very exact and professional specification, this involved

measuring and taking down the height and squareness of the core frequently to make sure

everything was to the exact standards expected by the customer, as well as double checking each step as

went go along.

As a team we are also expected to maintain a clean and efficient working environment to prevent accidents

and to make the work place easier to make use of.

Each member of our team was also the leader, we were trusted to make critical decisions in the moment when

needed, and we would not put down a new idea before we have tried it or told someone to be quiet when

they had an opposing opinion.

The mindset while working at Cogent was that the customer is important to us, and that the job should be done

right the first time, this idea taking priority over speed thus ensuring a high

quality product and a 100% satisfied customer. These ideals made it very easy to take pride in ones work.
