diesel engine emissions chassis and powertrain affects for

Navistar medium duty engine platform vehicles which include

Durastar, Workstar trucks, CE and RE school buses.

. Lead a team of Chassis and powertrain engineers for TerraStar

4x4 truck for the North American market with following new

features: Transfer case, front axle, front suspension, frame

engineering development and material budget forecast.

. Developed transfer case dFMEA, DVPR, engineering check list, and

design requirement document (DRD). Calculated powertrain vehicle

performance analysis.

Apr 2010-Jun 2011 Product Development Engineer

. Lead development activities for various military projects in

developing truck chassis, drivetrain and powertrain sub-systems

for the MRAP MaxxPro family of vehicles. Other projects includes

developing vehicles such as wrecker, ambulance, heavy transport

truck for US Navy and for Israel ministry of defense, tactical

vehicles for United Kingdom and US marine.

. Prepared bids for new military programs. Created concept design,

prototype build support, provided technical analysis to the

military customers, predicting fuel economy, gradability, and

powertrain performance.

. Prepared torque and HP requirement analysis for any given grade

and speed, analyzed required gross vehicle weight and chassis

weight distribution. Worked with suppliers to develop new heavy

duty axle, transfer case.

. Provided formal test incident responses (TIR) to the military

engineering staff utilizing 8-D problem solving tool and power

point reports. Managed team of designers to support military

vehicle development.

. Provided rear axle engineering support for heavy duty trucks.

Released new axles for North American market and military

vehicles.

. Co-authored and published rear axle design requirement document

(DRD) for Navistar rear axle group. Worked with Meritor, axle

supplier to minimize the axle complexity. Introduced and

released concept of ordering axles based on attribute features

(ABR) approach instead of standalone parts to reduce the number

of new axle part number being created on yearly bases.

Nov 2004-Jul 2008 Design Engineer

. Designed exhaust system to comply with 2007 diesel engine

emissions. Introduced temperature control device (TCD) to

reduce the gas temperature at tail pipe exit.

. Worked with suppliers to validate exhaust flex pipe and

predicting exhaust gas leak. Authored flex pipe design

requirement document (DRD).

. Provided stress analysis for minor sheet metal and casting parts

using in-house finite element software Acumen.

. Supported body components group by managing door seals, door

systems, vent windows, bus flooring, and bus seat components.

. Created design concept and cost analysis to mount the bus seat

using track rails instead of drilling several hundred holes on

each bus floor. Provided design concept to replace plywood

flooring with composite flooring to reduce warranty cost.
