Summary
Spent the last eleven years as a Lead Capacity Planner for the largest mainframe shop in the southeast. Developed and use capacity management and planning process. Understand IT component and resource level capacity planning. Develop what if scenarios to analyze performance, capacity, consolidation opportunities. Have worked in mainframe environments that include CICS, IMS, DB2, and MQ. Have created web pages to display information regarding current CPU utilization, memory usage and I/O. Have worked with the development staff on new projects and code changes to measure the impact on hardware. Worked with IFLs, VM and ZLinux and the Performance Tool Kit to capture data for capacity planning and performance tuning. Have worked with zIIP engines and monitored workloads to justify zIIP engines.
Have set critical key performance indicators and created reports to show those indicators.
Have set LPARs memory, weights and logical CPs. Worked directly with clients to aid in solving issues that may be impacting workloads, and make sure that the issue is fixed to the clients satisfaction.
Attend project meetings to gather information that may impact capacity or performance. Have worked as project manager on departmental projects. Hold regular meetings with upper management to keep them informed of capacity and performance issues. Make sure that any incident tickets that are assigned to my group are assigned to analyses within the group and that all tickets are worked in a timely manner and that measures are taken to be sure the incident has been fixed.

• Moved all MXG processing from the mainframe to Windows work stations saving the company about $700,000 dollars a year.
