New Product Introduction (NPI Program) & Continuous Product Improvement (CPI Program)

Currently working in NPI program for C series articulated trucks. This is tier 4 final series. I am responsible for global

product embedded electronics and control system validation that covers planning and execution of software strategies

validation on LRC, HRC tier 4f caterpillar articulated trucks. I also supported CPI program for M series motor graders and

NPI program for QCT G CAT series trucks.

• Lower powertrain features supported through validations in development phase:

• Automatic Traction Control System

• Automatic Retarding Control System

• Enhancing high speed directional shifts by EH braking

• Shift Control Logic

• Worked on development and validation of payload monitoring system using strain gauge CAN network sensors.

Improved system accuracy by collecting real time data for temp compensation and during tractor articulation.

Improved back office reporting of captured information through CAT visionlink.

• Worked in development of CX38 (large truck) and CX31 (small truck) transmissions. Validated both transmissions

on small and large trucks including validations for convertor drive, direct drive shift points, check for upshift and

downshift. Retarding shift point check, anti-hunt timer strategy check.

• Validated control strategies for Trans upshifting and downshifting for flat surfaces, grades, laden, unladed, during

retarding, coasting etc.

• Performing brake subsystem validation and software strategies checkouts for hydraulic accumulators and park

brake features

• Product Link for satellite communication and VIMS software checkouts planning and execution

• Steering system validations for primary as well as secondary system.

• Output Transfer Gear system validation for interaxle locking during skid events for splitting engine torque between

front and rear axles.

• Filter control system diagnostics validation including hydraulic, transmission, brake, OTG etc.

• Chassis feature validation including dash clusters and display system in cab

• Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electro hydraulics hardware and software Simulink models

• Product software validations for each subsystem covering engine, transmission, chassis, VIMS and off board

display systems. Validation work cover up preparing test plan and executing it on appropriate subsystem with

each software release.

• Electronic Control Modules validation using breakout boxes, pwm sensors, switches, actuators, faulting circuits,

function generators to simulate fault signals to capture machine diagnostics and events.

• Working knowledge of CAN bus and J1939 protocol

• Interacting with design and development engineers in order to prepare plan to validate their subsystem design on

the actual system.

• Functional Validation planning and execution for QCT Off-highway trucks, M Series Motor Graders (16M and 24M

Models)

• Tuning the subsystem physical parameters to enhance system quality in real time scenario using Canape software

for measurement and calibration.

RF & Microwave Circuits

• Designed and Simulated project "Realization of Dual Band pass Filter using Finlines" on HFSS Simulator as per

Microwave Circuits course requirement. Requirement was to select any IEEE Paper on any of Microwave devices

and reproduce the simulated results. Our team selected IEEE paper on Dual Band Pass Filter and able to produce

notch in the otherwise Flat band with use of metamaterials (SRR) to get two bands in Flat Band.

• Matlab Simulation for plotting probability density function (PDF) of Rayleigh Fading Channel.

• Matlab simulation for two transmitter antenna and one receiver antenna system to analyze bit error rate vs.

SNR with zero mean Gaussian channel and channel coding.

• Designed cyclic space-time block code for two transmitter antenna using Matlab simulation.

• Project on comparison of Bit Error rate (BER) vs. SNR for two transmitter antenna and one receiver antenna

system with QPSK signals, Orthogonal Space Time Code (Alamouti Code Scheme), Rayleigh Fading Channel i.e.

CDMA Communication

• Projects on Comparison of BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of MF, MVDR, Auxiliary Vector Filters, Multipath BER

analysis of MF, MVDR, Auxiliary Vector using RAKE filter concept and BER analysis of non-Gaussian channels using

MF, MVDR and AV filters for CDMA received signal. All these simulations were performed using MATLAB Code.

Modern Networking Concepts

• Project on developing Chatty application. This application is used to chat with others users of this application. The

application can interact with other users either using TCP socket or UDP socket. One client can handle 5 TCP

connections at a time. There is no central server. Every user is either client or server depending upon the

application usage. This application is developed in Unix C.

• Project on developing UBTorrent application. This application works as Bit torrent which is standard for peer to

peer file sharing system. The application allows leechers (who have no pieces or have some pieces of file) to

request pieces of file from seeders (who have all pieces) or users who have some pieces which the leecher doesn’t

have. This application is developed in Unix C.

• Detailed studies on TCP/IP, UDP Protocols of transport layer, BGP Protocol of Network layer.

• Knowledge of Routers, Router Design, Hubs, Switches, Switching Fabrics used in Routers, Autonoums Systems

(AS), Inter domain and Intra domain routing
