systems are UNIX (SUN Solaris) or Linux (Redhat, SuSe) based, with applications and database (Oracle,

Times Ten, MySQL) running on them in a load sharing or standby setup. Some of the skills involved for

the UNIX/Linux System Admin responsibilities are adding users, scheduling backups, restoring data,

troubleshooting hardware/software issues, automation of tasks/setting up cron jobs, installing updates,

SNMP alarming as well as troubleshooting traffic issues/connectivity. Application support includes

configuration, troubleshooting and optimizing of data and connectivity to other systems.

System (PPS) for setting up a new Pre Paid network. Integrated and tested interoperability of the

PPS system with another vendor’s equipment in the GSM network. Configured customer

requirements into three different nodes of the PPS system. Investigated and increased

performance in the Pre Paid Administration System (PPAS), which runs on VMS, by over 20 times.

Performed Emergency Correction (EC) for Service Order Gateway (SOG), FOA testing towards

Universal Messaging (UM), which allowed provisioning of subscribers from one central system.

Worked with a team to provide second line support for Ericsson Intelligent Network (IN) Pre Paid

System (PPS) worldwide. Tested, redesigned to improve speed by 24 times, trained, wrote document,

coordinated and then performed migration procedure for subscribers within the PPS system.

Configured, integrated, and supported PPS systems in a lab environment, allowing support and test

functions to be performed. Installed SDP at customer site, improving their system performance.

Coordinated and performed NPA split for customer. Supported and maintained an IN PPS in a GSM

mobile network for an Ericsson customer in a first line support team, achieving highest level of service

and lowest downtimes of all U.S. customers.
