December 10, 2008.
. Prepared all of the necessary documents (not once, but twice) that again
- successfully lead to the re-accreditation of the Dell and Solaris DHSN
network. Tests were based on the National Institute of Standards and
Technology process. Again, this was another huge contributing factor in
DHS's ability to receive the desperately needed ATO.
. Due to my proactive development of an on-going Excel spreadsheet, we was
able to complete not only the one "agreed on" network scan, but two full
network scans with results.
. From the above Excel spreadsheet, we were able to provided DHS with the

Recommendation on the DHSN network. DHS and Northern Grumman were able to
resolve just about all of the vulnerabilities before the unidentified
Independent Contractor came in to execute the final scans.
. Provided security engineering design support as necessary, and conducted

environments. This also aided in the DHS and Northern Grumman's ability to
obtain the ATO that was necessary to keep that network up and operational
until the final testing date.
. Assisted the client in the preparation of security plans as appropriate
for each designated security level of concern and developing mitigation
procedures to reduce threats from residual risks.
. Conducted testing as required on the Dell Server and desktop, Cisco
Router/Switch, Solaris environment to determine the vulnerabilities
associated with the system being evaluated.
. Proactively provided the client with technical security recommendations
throughout the testing so that they could enhance their infrastructure
security posture for when the independent unidentified re-testers came

for the USPTO so that they could mitigate a lot of issues that may have
come up during the final C&A approval.
. Assisted clients in developing mitigation procedures to reduce threats
from residual risks.
. Provided clients with technical security recommendations to enhance their
infrastructure security posture on the Dell Server and PC, Cisco
Router/Switch and Solaris environment.
