Wireless Systems Engineer - Nov 2009 to Present

Network Planning and Engineering:

• Planning, engineering and deployment of new and existing customer's RAN networks(Radio Access

Network), with multiple customers on multiple platforms(LTE, WiMax, UMTS, GSM and CDMA).

• Building new RAN networks and customizing existing ones according to customer specifications,

including IP addressing, network planning, S1, X2 configuration, CIQ updates and neighbor relations.

Write and execute Test Cases/Test Plans in the form of ATPs(Acceptance Test Plans) to perform QA

to verify and validate that the systems have been fully integrated before delivering the networks.

Trials and Engineering:

• Work with potential customers to deploy a trial wireless network of limited size.

• Build and configure a network of optimal performance so the customers can validate and use the

system before deciding on their purchase.

• Provide knowledge transfer and technical support to help the customer navigate through our

networks, to better understand our products.

• Provide the customer's employees training on how to use the new system.

• Conduct class room based and hands-on training, and OJT(on the job training).

Project Management and Leadership:

• Taken over most of the responsibilities from the executive project managers in order to

complete the projects in a smooth and timely manner.

• Conduct daily meetings with the customer, update the project plans, provide status updates.

Nortel Networks, Richardson, TX. CDMA Voice, Data & OAM

Operations Engineer - Jan 2009 to Nov 2009

Worked on customer sites upgrading their networks and validating the new software.

Primary function was to upgrade the customers access nodes such as the BTSs, BSCs(SBS, DISCO,

TFU), eBSCs(CBRS, CSVS, and CPDS), ATM and OA&M(CEMS, BSM, and MDM) to the latest

software versions.

Performed network and performance monitoring during upgrade activities.

Provided KTs(knowledge transfers) and hands-on operational consultation for the customer.

Worked with the customer, TAS and design teams to resolve any issues that may stop or curtail the

upgrade process, and find quick and timely resolutions for issues.

As a subject matter expert (SME) on Access upgrades I have provided training to other

engineers who joined our team.

Nortel Networks, Richardson, TX. CDMA Voice, Data & OAM

Service Introduction/Validation Engineer/ BSS Engineer - Nov 2000 to Jan 2009

Responsible for prediction, assessment and verification of end-to-end upgrades of wireless

products in CDMA.

Performed CDMA Access software upgrades for over 8 years. Responsibilities included

upgrading and maintaining Voice and Data Networks on BTSs, BSCs(SBS, DISCO, TFU),

eBSCs(CBRS, CSVS, and CPDS), ATM and OA&M(CEMS, BSM, and MDM).

Access prime for 8 years in Nortel Networks.

The first Nortel Validation Engineer to perform an end-to-end upgrade remotely on a Verizon live

switch during the NBSS16 Validation.

Validated Access and Core functionality/features from release NBSS10.0 to NBSS16.0 Nortel CDMA

software releases for the BTS, BSC/eBSC and the MTX.

Validated important features such as MEID, pESN, TrFO, EFLT and EVRC-B,

Developed and executed test plans for the features.

As a team leader, tracked, monitored and analyzed the performance of other engineers to ensure

that deadlines were met.

Performed research, planning, documentation and execution of the test plan in the Nortel’s

internal lab and on the assigned customer site.

Responsibilities included, troubleshooting and resolving complex wireless hardware and software

issues at customer sites and resolving them.

Recreate customer problems on-site or in a lab environment, locate the software or hardware flaws
