Financial Analyst

Functions:

Management of Accounts Payables

. Perform all aspects of the accounts payable function by matching

supporting documents and booking the transactions into SUN according to

WV policies and deadlines. Identify errors or discrepancies and resolve

before processing.

. Process the cheques / Online payments with supporting documentation and

submit for review and subsequent payment

. Prepare monthly creditor reconciliations and liaise with vendors to

ensure prompt clearance or resolution of pending or disputed items.

. Research and recommend programs, policies and procedures to improve the

effectiveness and efficiency of the accounts payable function, including

new software, internal controls, new electronic payment technologies, and

customer service.

. Develop and Conduct VOC and supplier management training for the staff.

Treasury and cash flow Management

. Analyze the monthly cash needs in both Usd and Kes and prepare the annual

projected cash flow for purposes of determining the local currency amount

to be hedged.

. Track / monitor the daily cash flow to ensure that sufficient cash is

held and no cash outs are experienced. This should also ensure the cash

held at the close of the month is within the required cash level as

provided in the finance manual.

. Prepare and weekly cash flow report

Document Management and Archiving

. Develop policies and guidelines governing the management and archiving of

documents and update with any changes in WV field policies or local laws.

The policies and procedures should also take into account any changes in

technology

. Keep records of documents filed or removed using a tracking tool

. Perform periodic inspections of documents or files in order to ensure

correct placement, legibility and proper condition

. Find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from

authorized internal and external users (Auditors, Government agencies)

Balance Sheet Accounts Analysis

. Reviews the balance sheet accounts monthly and ensure only valid debts or

liabilities are maintained.

. Ensure appropriate aging by correctly matching the transactions and

marking them with the system allocation markers.

. Liaise with the relevant departments such as administration to ensure

recoveries of deposits is done promptly as they fall due.

Tax, statutory deductions and levies

. Ensure correctness of the tax computations

. Prepare and remit the taxes and other statutory/SACCO/pension deductions

within the provisions of the law or other guidelines

. Ensure that quarterly and annual organizational PAYE returns are done in

liaison with the organization's tax consultants.

. Ensure that P9s are made available to all national staff by working in

liaison with the tax consultants to provide the necessary information to

them, review for correctness and distribute to staff. Resolve any

matters raised by the staff.

. Continuously keep abreast with any changes in the tax laws and advise the

Finance Manager accordingly

Business process analyst.

. Reviewing and improving workflows in SSU that involve in finance,

Administration, Human resource management, procurement and logistic and

asset management process.

. Identify redundant processes that compromise quality output.

. Identify processes that can be automated to create faster workflows from

start to end.

. Safeguarding and improving existing control to ensure compliancy.
