Concentration in Electrical Engineering The College of New Jersey, Ewing NJ May 2014 GPA 3.4/4.0
Academic Achievements: Dean’s List, TCNJ Merit Scholarship, Charles E. Driesens Engineering Award
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
AUTOMATED MEDICAL PRODUCTS CORP. – Edison, NJ June 2012 - August 2013
Undergraduate Engineering Assistant
Collaborated with an interdisciplinary Product Design team in the design and development of novel surgical
retractor blades, as well as implementing product line improvements
Using SolidWorks, generated 3D models/assemblies and created manufacturing drawings from which rapid
prototype parts were developed to prove form, fit, function, and manufacturing feasibility of the instruments
Communicated project status and designs from idea to production stages across multi-functional teams that
included surgeons, marketing, management, manufacturing and engineering disciplines
Recorded written minutes of technical and administrative discussions held between division personnel, industry,
and management; performed literature searches for senior engineers and prepared summary reports
Assisted senior reviewers in obtaining /reviewing technical material related to medical device submissions;
acquired knowledge of the FDA 510(k) Medical Device clearance process and FDA Quality System Regulations
SPARKLING POOL SERVICES – Scotch Plains, NJ June 2009 - August 2011
Lifeguard
Head Guard at Southwyck Pool, Five Star Lifeguard Award (July 2011), AED/Red Cross certified
Monitored pool/surrounding area; enforced pool and water rules in a tactful and effective manner
Ensured safety of patrons by preventing accidents, or recognizing and responding to emergencies
Communicated in writing/verbally with other personnel/patrons, in routine and emergency situations
ACADEMIC RESEARCH PROJECTS
POSTURE DETECTION SYSTEM – Senior Design Project (Team Leader)
Worked with team of four to design a posture sensor device that employs multiple inertial sensors to calculate
primary spinal angles and angular torsion measurements
Utilized microcontroller to collect real time stream of accelerometer data and convert into meaningful spinal
metrics governed by formulated algorithms and biomechanics research
Established wireless Bluetooth connection to transmit posture data to target handheld device with Android platform
Developed Android application for storing data and presenting it in a clear graphical user interface; user is alerted
of any deviation from the proper spine position
LEADERSHIP
TCNJ Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) - Vice President / Treasurer
Coordinated chapter functions and fundraising events; scheduled and prepared agenda for weekly meetings; worked
with the executive board on administrative decisions; maintained a professional relationship with school’s
administration and other organizations; secured necessary funding for club expenses
TCNJ Polish Club – Treasurer / Co-Founder
Handled financial transactions concerning the organization; served as TCNJ financial board liaison; created and
managed fundraisers for the club; prepared financial statements outlining all expenditures and funds each semester
