CONSULTING EXPERIENCE
Campus Statistical Analyst, March 2013-April 2013
. Interacted with students, faculties to gather questions to provide
better and more reasonable statistical methods for their data and
researches
. Analyzed clients' data by using R, SAS and SPSS based on clients'
requirements
. For clients came with questions about method application or data output,
offered them reasonable solutions and kept in touch for further analyzed
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Regression
. Selected data from General Social Survey(1989-2013) to build project
dataset and analyzed how work conflict and
family characters effect person's job satisfaction
. Applied methods like mean or mode substitution to deal with missing data
and built linear regression model to discover the relationship between
job satisfaction and target factors
. In order to explore how family condition moderate the relationship
between family-to-work conflict and job satisfaction, interaction terms
were included linear regression model
. Used ordinal logistic regression analysis to find out the model for
further prediction about job satisfaction based on current factors
. Compared parameters among models and evaluated model performances for
different purposes
. All procedures, such as data process and regression modeling, were
performed by SAS 9.3
Database Management
. Designed and implemented a complete working database to manage job
marketing
. In this database, student users in the system can search job
information and find target job or career events, also made recruiter
users can target their potential employees based on certain job
qualifications
. Built the whole database frame and structure by using SQL Server,
created certain interfaces in Access that can input new data and do some
search for the users
. Created SQL queries to achieve the searching function in this database
so that student search target job based on location, position name or
company, and recruiters can do search based on school, major or certain
skills to discover and contact with ideal employers
Data Mining
. Applied bank-marketing dataset to predict whether a client will
subscribe a term deposit, using Rapidminer and SPSS to clean the data
. Conducted several machine leaning methods such as classification,
clustering, generating association rule by using Weka and R
. Evaluated algorithms performance and compared method accuracy across
Time Series Analysis
. Collected recent 2 years energy consumption and unemployment rate
monthly data from US government web site
. Discovered and removed seasonal patterns from both variables by using
SCA
. Built bivariate model between energy consumption and unemployment rate
using Minitab and R
