Academic Projects
Philadelphia, PA
Drexel Univeristy
Aliivibrio Fischeri Genomic Library September 2012 - December 2012
• Isolated chDNA from A. fischeri to ready for transformation.
• Composed a plasmid library that included the cloned chDNA.
• Transformed E. coli with the plasmid library and analyzed E. coli for the presence of bioluminescence.
Drexel University Philadelphia, PA
Human DNA Fingerprinting by Polymerase September 2010 - December 2010
• Isolated cheek cells and carried out polymerase chain reactions using cheek cell DNA as a template.
• Resulting polymerase chain reactions were subjected to agarose gel electrophoresis.
Drexel Univeristy Philadelphia, PA
Handheld Electronic Walking Remote March 2010 - June 2010
• Engineered a vibrating sensory remote that notifies the visually impaired of nearby objects.
• Programmed the device using Java to work with the ultrasonic sensor.
• Assembled a physical working prototype that detected objects and worked as the code dictated.
Experience
Drexel Plasma Institute Philadelphia, PA
Plasma-Assisted Skin Disinfection and Sterilization (Senior Design) April 2013 - May 2014
• Assessed the areas of the hospital where disinfection is most-needed.
• Provided statistical analysis of bacterial invasion rates and types of organisms affecting the Emergency room at a
hospital.
• Developed a hand disinfection system based on the existing plasma-assisted spray system.
SAP America Newtown Square, PA
Co-op: Technology Americas Workspace Operations and Design April 2012 - September 2012
