PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS
Medium Bore Recip Compressor Assembly Project - Lean Black Belt
$200k annual savings - value stream balance of flow, resource re-
allocation, RM/WIP/FG
inventory reduction, Standard Work productivity
improvements via setup reduction & cell design
Denver Repair Facility - Varel Drill Bits
Lead the setup and operation of repair facility to address new market
needs in the Midwest & lower Canada; new revenue stream developed to
address oilfield need for quick turnaround drill bits without the expense
of OEM product.
Operations turnaround - Shand Engineering, UK (in process)
Delivery to primary customer has suffered in past 18 months, price
concessions are being aggressively sought after, old systems & "silo"
processes are not cooperative or transparent - institutions are firm.
At stake is 40% of the business ($35M) at 30% gross margins!
Approach is to STABILIZE - OPTIMIZE - STANDARDIZE, getting delivery
above 90% and reducing costs by 10%.
I have authored a Value Stream Linkage model to develop a plan for
every part (PFEP), a Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning (SIOP)
schedule each month, and a "back to basics" waste reduction effort on the
manufacturing floor.
