Manager, Project Management
Shoretel is a provider of business class IP based phone services. The service is provided using a cloud based
model where the soft switch is hosted in the company’s data center, eliminating the need to purchase and
maintain a physical PBX.
• Successfully managed infrastructure projects ranging in cost from 6 million to 0.5 million. Projects
were complete within budget and timelines.
• Led the build out of a geographically redundant data center to ensure failover of mission critical
services such as phone, contact center, monitoring and reporting.
• Manage the Networks, Systems and NOC department planning from a financial and head count
perspective. Also managed the budget and headcount on a day to day basis. Ensured budget was
within 3% of plan.
• Streamlined and managed the procurement process resulting in 30 – 50% savings in the cost of
purchased items.
• Successfully managed software projects for critical services such as Shoretel’s integration with
Salesforce.com
• Established the project management process and also selected and administered tools such as JIRA
and Rally.

was to create a web site and service where users can pay their healthcare bills electronically.
• Responsible for all aspects of the project in accordance with the Citi SDLC process including
requirements gathering, scope management, risk and issue analysis along with mitigation,
development and reporting.
• Managed the vendor used to create the web site where users can view and pay their healthcare
obligations.
Dow Jones, South Brunswick, NJ 12/2010- 5/2011
Product Development Manager
• Lead cross functional teams in all aspects of project development, both back-end platform and front-
end web, such as requirements gathering, setting of scope, impact and risk analysis, development
and testing.
• Manage the vendor selection process for a new sentiment analysis engine.
• Product Manager for the creation of a triples based ontology. The ontology was built as a proof of
concept to demonstrate the viability and use of the technology to business managers.

Thumbplay, Inc., New York, NY 11/2007 – 6/2010
Director, Technical Project Management
• Project Manager for the platform that delivers content for Thumbplay Music- a mobile and AIR
application that allows users to customize their music experience by giving them the ability to create
and manage play lists from a catalog of over 6 million tracks. The platform was built using Java,
JBOSS, PostgreSQL and several caches to improve performance and reduce system load. The
mobile application was developed for iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices.
• Directed an offshore four member team of java developers located in Israel in the development of
tasks and priorities. Streamlined the development cycle for changes to mobile content delivery
platform to a consistent two week cycle. Agile development methodologies were used in two week
sprints.
• Managed and directed all aspects of the development lifecycle including the creation of project
plans, requirements gathering or creation, technical documentation analysis, design, development,
testing and release.
• Conducted technical review and risk analysis of new features and solutions to issues provided by
vendor along with pre-release checks. These reviews resulted in a reduction of up to 2 weeks lead
time for production release by the elimination of unexpected system behavior.
• Responsible for day to day operations of mobile content delivery platform. Reduced consistent
operational issues to infrequent or non-critical levels.
• Instituted subscriber billing policies that saved the company over $600,000 per year.
• Managed complex carrier related projects such as aggregator migrations and direct carrier
connections. This involved all steps of a project cycle from requirements gathering, creating the
specifications document, managing development teams, QA teams, the release process and post
release follow up.
• Proficient in mobile content delivery including SMS, Premium SMS, MMS, DRM, WAP sites, and
WAP based billing.
• Worked directly with mobile aggregators such as OpenMarket and SinglePoint. Built close carrier
relations with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint Cellular South and nTelos.
• Managed and streamlined report creation and delivery to content providers such as EMI, Sony and
Universal. This was an extremely important aspect of the business as it directly affected the business
relationship Thumbplay had with its content providers.
AOL, New York, NY 8/2005 – 11/2007
Product Manager
• Designed the data structure for the new AOL Search content management and delivery tool,
CATMANDU, which contains search terms categorized by type and relevance.
• Developed methodology and system of rules for the new AOL Search platform FindAnything to
dictate its behavior. The design and methodology allowed an increase in search term coverage and
the return of significantly more relevant content. The design and interaction of the two systems also
allowed for easier management by editors who were the end users of the internal product.
• As Product Manager of the rules system, led the effort in the designing of features, adoption and
training of the new system. This required interaction with end users, development teams, other
product managers operations, database group and the offshore team in Bangalore, India.
• Created a system to report and track performance of the new system. These reports were extremely
well received by upper management and end users as an accurate indication of performance. The
report indicated a search query coverage improvement of three percent half way through the
transition.
• Trained users in the proper usage of the platform, including best practices.
• As recognition of the value of my contributions, was relocated from the India offshore office to
work with the strategic development team in the US.
AOL, Bangalore, India 5/2003 – 8/2005
Technical Project Manager
• Instrumental in setting up AOL Search offshore office in Bangalore. This involved the recruiting of
both technical and non-technical positions.
• Created processes to ensure high standards of quality in the writing of code, the management of data
and the creation of web content.
• Managed group of five developers on projects in both Windows and UNIX platforms, using both
.net and java technologies. This required hands on involvement in the design and development of
products, tools and processes.
• Created system to increase efficiency with which content was created for AOL Search by reducing
time to completion from weeks to a few days. In doing so, increased coverage on AOL Search by
approximately four million terms.
• Tasked with new development work, which involved researching new technologies and protocols.
• Used Six Sigma methodology to reduced miscommunication between the India and US offices.
