. Successfully migrated network servers from Novell using NDS to

Microsoft WindowsNT. Subsequently updated the WindowsNT domain, first

to Windows 2000 using Active Directory, then thru to Windows 2003 R2.

Added and maintained the group policies that were required to enforce

company policies and standards. Continually increased functionality

and security of the network over time by adding services such as DNS,

WINS, DHCP, WSUS, ISA, remote SSL access using Firepass and RSA

SecurID tokens.

. In 2001 installed and implemented a Citrix Metaframe 1.8 environment

that allowed users on the WAN to access applications hosted at the

corporate office. Since then, as the main administer of the Citrix

installation, successfully updated that environment to MPS 3.0, and

then more recently to MPS 4.0. The current Citrix farm consists of 23

servers supporting over 600 users running both in-house and packaged

applications.

. Implemented and supported the WAN which connected over 100 locations

throughout Ontario and western Canada thru the Internet using

Netscreen VPN appliances. Working closely with ISP's and telco

providers, set up cost-effective WAN connections at all locations.

Replacing the existing frame relay connections and the ISDN links

achieved significant cost savings for the company.

. Using Visual Basic 6, developed in-house customized network monitoring

tools with pager/email alerts as mission critical scheduling

applications ran 24/7. Used Solar Winds to report on LAN/WAN

availability to ensure that SLA targets were met.

. Also using Visual Basic 6, set up scripts that allowed Help-Desk

personnel without administrator rights to perform basic functions such

as resetting passwords and clearing roaming profile directories.

. Coordinated all installations and maintenance of LAN cabling.

Converted the corporate LAN from token ring to Ethernet. Created

further efficiencies by upgrading LAN infrastructure to gigabit.

. Researched and recommended appropriate networking and server hardware

and worked with vendors to provide selected equipment at the best

price.

. Set up a DRP site in St Catharines and used NSI Double-Take to

replicate the production databases in real time to this site.

. Participated and assisted in the preparations for passing Sarbanes-

Oxley audit.

. Administration of IBM AS400's included applying O/S updates and

upgrades from V3 thru to V5R4. As QSECOFR, administered all

application and user security. Installed and administered Infinium

applications for Payroll, Payables and General Ledger. Wrote and

maintained change management utilities for the AS400 in-house

programs.

. Provided support for the corporate phone system. Coordinated

replacement of aging Nortel PBX using analog copper lines with new NEC

digital PBX using digital PRIs.

. Set up first Intranet for the company using Notepad and basic HTML.

Although this was done on my own simply to learn HTML, it proved

invaluable during the SARS crisis by providing a method for employees

to share information that could be continually updated.

. Supervised one technical support analyst and two AS400 operators.

. As a self-motivated MCSE certified professional, and with the help of

one technical analyst, was able to successfully support and enhance

all aspects of the network while consistently meeting SLA targets.

. Designed, wrote, supported and enhanced payroll and financial systems

both within Infinium and in-house systems on System38, AS400 and

Intel-based systems using Synon, Cobol, Clipper and Visual Basic.

financial data within the Infinium applications on the iSeries. This

was very highly valued by the users as it allowed them much easier

access to the financial information and the ability to place the data
