EMC is a national membership based organization (not-for-profit) dedicated exclusively to the promotion of electric

was launched following a December 5, 2005 workshop in Vancouver attended by a wide cross section of interested

> Sitting on the OE2 Board for the Province of Ontario charting the energy future.
In 2008 we were successful in getting the Federal Government to support a Technology Road Map (TRM) for Electric
Mobility in Canada - the future of ground transportation in Canada. With the financial support and guidance of NRCan
and Industry Canada, Electric Mobility Canada is spearheaded an 18 month national effort to complete a Technology
Road Map for Electric Mobility in Canada.
I was asked by the Government to Chair this Committee and deliver the Roadmap and I am currently the Chair for
the Roadmap Implementation Committee again at the request of the Federal Government.
The Government of Canada defines a Technology Road Map (TRM) as a process tool to help identify the key
technologies than an industry/sector/company needs to succeed in the future and the projects, steps required for
getting those technologies developed and implemented by Canadian industry. TRM’s are developed with a group of
collaborators who are knowledgeable about an industry/sector and its relevant technologies. These collaborators
identify the key future technologies, create the roadmap that will lead to their development; and implement the
roadmap’s projects/steps.
> My work with EMC is ongoing and I do a lot of traveling representing Canada globally at International events around
Sustainable Transportation and other related subjects dealing with Advanced Transportation matters.
Indian Motorcycle Company – Owner/Partner 1994–2004
In 1994 a group of Canadians myself included owned the trademark named Indian Motorcycle in Canada and
successfully built it into a national Brand. The original company was founded in 1901 in Springfield Massachusetts and
had a long history of being “number one” in every conceivable category until 1953 when the motorcycle ceased mass
assembly.
Page 2
Our mission at Indian Motorcycle was to develop a brand around this esteemed motorcycle while not building the
motorcycles initially. The partners were successful in doing this in Canada. The brand was developed and positioned to
attract early adopters and reached over $50 million in gross retail sales annually, with the core of the business in
different categories of men’s and women’s apparel.
In 1998 the “Canadians” launched an uphill legal battle seeking the Indian Motorcycle trademarks in the USA which
were held in receivership. On December 7th 1998 in the United States Superior Court Denver Colorado, the Canadian
partners were awarded the Indian Motorcycle trademarks in all classifications and in many countries of which the US
was included.
> These decisions eventually lead to the resurgence of the classic motorcycle that had ceased production in 1953. In
1999 we re-launched the Indian Chief with a Limited Edition Motorcycle and we opened the first Indian Motorcycle
Café.
> Over the next few years we raised $220 million dollars in private equity to re-launch the Indian Chief in 1999 and
expand operations into the US.
> Sold over 2200 motorcycles in the first two years of operations and had established 85 Dealerships in the US and
Canada.
During my time with Indian Motorcycle I held the position of President and COO of Indian Motorcycle, some of the key
achievements included Brand Development and Licensing of the Brand Globally. In 2004 I sold my interests in the
business to my partners to make a move to an area of the sustainable world of business.
Enterprise Online Founder – President - Internet Service Provider (ISP) 1992–1994
Responsible for marketing and strategic direction for one of Canada’s first ISP’s and web site development companies.

time I was able to sell over 3,500 monthly subscriptions. After two years I sold this business to Jim Estill from Hook up
Communications in order that he could then issue a very early internet IPO.
Don Cherry’s Grapevine Owner - Operating Partner 1986–1994
Partnered with one of Canada’s most famous sports personalities and one of Canada’s ten most famous people of all
time Mr. Don Cherry in a venture that saw a rollout of 30 sports bars across Canada, the promotion and development of
collateral materials to support all operations and we generated sales in a numbe r of other categories with Don as the
brand. I also owned and operated two locations in the chain myself one having the most profile by the Skydome in
Toronto.
ERC Rodermark – Hockey Club – West Germany 1984–1985
Spent well over a year living in Germany and playing hockey in the German Professional League where I finished in the
top ten in scoring and penalty minutes. Enjoyed many months traveling through Europe visiting well over 12 countries
and hundreds of cities, towns and villages, this experience has been an education unto itself.
Sales Manager – Yellow Pages Toronto 1982–1984

customer strategic business plans, increased penetration at existing accounts and discovery of new customers.
