Skills

Comprehensive assessment of children with developmental disabilities to determine

needs and set developmentally appropriate goals.

Select and modify activities as per the needs of children with disability to help them learn

motor planning and compensatory strategies to achieve optimal functional efficiency

within the limits of their cognitive and physical capabilities.

Recommend low cost furniture modification at school and at home for the child to

achieve maximum independence and allow better accessibility and ease for parents to

care for their child.

Help children improve decision-making, problem solving, motor planning, reasoning,

memory, sequencing, co-ordination and perceptual skills through various fine and gross

motor activities in individual as well as in group therapy.

Provide training in developmental therapy and supervision in therapy techniques to

mothers.

Organize programs and social activities for children with developmental disabilities to

facilitate socialization, promote mainstreaming, improve self-esteem and provide

opportunity to participate.

Consulting and discussing with senior members of rehabilitation team about the progress

and treatment options available to address developing and/progressing lever arm

dysfunction.

and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM).

2010 - International travel scholarship awarded by AACPDM during it’s 64th annual

meeting in Washington DC.

Professional Accomplishments:

Presented paper on “Non-motor and distant gains of Botulinum toxin therapy”, in

first annual conference of IACP in 2006, Hyderabad, India.

Presented a paper on "Perceptions of mainstreaming - A resource room

experience", in second annual conference of IACP in 2007,Bangalore.

Attended third annual conference of IACP as a faculty in 2008, Nagpur.

Attended fourth annual conference of IACP as a faculty in 2010, Mumbai.

One of the organizers of national Cerebral palsy Day at Nagpur - a nationwide

community awareness initiative of IACP on Oct 3rd 2010.
