SKILLS
I have been groomed for customer service. While working my way up through the service industry
I embraced every opportunity to learn each facet of the business as a whole. This has imbued me
with the ability to read and react proactively to situations before they become an issue. A few of
my strong points include; merchandising, marketing, restaurant and bar management, lab work,
and a significant understanding of government politics and environmental sustainability via my
degree work. My defining quality is the ability to think outside the box and problem solve in an
innovative and sustainable way.
EXPERIENCE
Wait-staff / Bartender
David’s 388/Monument Square/Opus September 2010 to February 2013
Immersed myself in every one of Chef David Turin’s endeavors, but for the most part tending bar
and closing up shop was my forte. As bartender, I had to handle all the money, reports, and
nightly closing of the restaurant.
Wait-staff / Server
DiMillo’s, Portland, ME February 2004 to January 2010
I always tried my best to deliver first class table service which was challenging in this
fast-paced dining establishment requiring significant flexibility and problem solving skills.
Implemented the reclamation and recycling of cooking oil through a local company.
Manufacturer’s Representative and Model
Jo Anderson Models & Assocs. Marlton, NJ January 2000 to 2004
This is where I learned marketing and merchandising canvassing colleges and concert venues for
promotions and hands on demonstrations. I was in charge of ten people on each outing.
Lab Technician (Student Intern) 1998-99
Boise Cascade R+D Center, Swan Island, OR.
Performed wet and dry chemistry tests on paper samples while testing the paper for ink
absorption qualities, analyzed and entered findings into an Excel database.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
From January 2000 to February 2004, I worked as a Server and Bartender in several restaurants
to pay for school, including Perfetto's in Portland, Maine; Avenue B in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania;
and Sullivan's Steak House in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. During this time I had responsibility
for opening and closing, including overseeing housekeeping, ordering bar supplies and liquor, and
daily cash accounting.
