Responsible for the Quality Management System in concordance with Internal and Customer Specific Requirements maintaining compliance with ISO-TS 16949. Managed 3 Customer Quality Engineers, 1 Supplier Quality Engineer, with supporting team of Lab Techs, Auditors, and Inspectors. Responsible for Internal, Customer, Supplier, and 3rd party audits. Lead problem solving using; Ishikawa (4M/6M); 3 Legged 5 Why, 5W1H, to develop 8D responses. Created and implemented training presentation for general Quality Basics and Defect Detection.
Report Quality KPI’s to upper management in North America and abroad: Internal and External PPM, Warranty C/1000 – Costs, Customer Complaint Responses (NCT’s / PRR’s), Supplier PPM, 3rd part sorting operations, and Cost of Non-Quality. Onsite audits of Suppliers. Visit Customer facilities as required at vehicle assembly plants and warranty review meetings at QEC Auburn Hills for Chrysler.
Supplier Specific:
Performed on site detailed evaluations for potential and existing Suppliers conducting full QMS audits including Human Resources (Training), Purchasing (Sub Suppliers), Maintenance Planning, Condition of building and equipment, Run at Rate, Scrap Rate, Capability Studies (primarily on critical characteristics), Control Plan Audits from receiving of raw materials through dock audit of finished goods and all processes in between. Completed scorecard and corrective action list to be reviewed with the Supplier and our internal team. Where necessary, work with Supplier and our Engineering to work through issues with drawing interpretation/clarity and occasionally deviations and/or permanent changes considering impact on SOP dates, cost, assembly issues, production performance, and durability considering Customer requirements and potential need for Customer notification and approval prior to internal acceptance.
Quality Coordinator: Kingsport, TN Plant: 2007-2008
First point of contact with OEM Customers and Suppliers concerning quality issues and product support. Manage the Quality System for the Kingsport facility. Submit / approve PPAP. Monitor and maintain GMSupplyPower and Chrysler systems regarding quality performance. Work closely with our production plant in Brazil to lead or assist with problem solving and corrective action during new product development, production, and warranty / field complaints. Cross functional Team development and implementation of PFMEA, Control Plan, and Work Instruction documentation for the shop floor. Also, provided training, visual aids, Quality alerts, and One Point Lessons. Analysis and reporting of warranty claims. Provide quality performance reports to our Quality Director in Brazil.
