Served as Data Architect on the Unemployment Insurance Benefits Systems Modernization Project for the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

• Provided data models, physical database design, and database administration.

• The project used IBM DB2 OS/390 version 7.1 and 8.x. The logical data model contained approximately 225 entities and almost 1400 attributes. The physical model had over 260 tables and over 3200 columns. The model was maintained using PowerDesigner version 11.1.

• Supported conversion with knowledge of the existing systems in IMS DB and DB2 OS/390.

• Assisted in evaluating business intelligence-related ETL tools, mainly Ascential and Dataflow.

Developed and presented “Data Warehousing Strategies and Tools” for the Illinois State Police to provide direction for their data warehouse and business intelligence / decision support system planning efforts.

Served as Database Architect on the WIA Customer Information and Case Management System Project for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunities.

• Provided logical and physical database design, database performance testing and tuning, and database configuration and administration.

• The system was developed in J2EE utilizing IBM Websphere and DB2 on a Z/OS platform.
