. Worked with Kenmore Marketing and Sears to development new features for
Kenmore brand 2002 and 2003 models.
. Facilitated Kenmore model line and feature development with refrigeration
technology engineers.
Manuf. Project Leader for 245fa Blowing Agent Conversion Project (6/2000 -
5/2001)
. Led cab and door development trials for field test units and design of
experiments.
. Wrote engineering study criteria for the 245fa Team, which was used in
Request for Quote for both Fort Smith and Evansville plants.
Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Condor/IDI Project (4/1998 - 6/2000)
. Saved plant over $3 million by providing analysis of various equipment
and processes for producing new doors, choosing best process solution
that met our goals (floor space, cost, capacity and flexibility).
. Initiated trials and developed a new way of foaming doors that was never
done before (and many said couldn't be done).
. Supported Marketing and Product Engineering in development of
manufacturable door design that beat competition in market research.
. Developed foam molds and processes for all curved door and IDI door
models on time, while also starting up new drum foam machine and ramping
to full production in record time.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Global Refrigeration Team (6/1995 -
3/1998)
. Successfully purchased, and installed in India, on time and on budget,
$14 million of manufacturing equipment and tooling, involving 3
distinctly different technologies, including frequent visits to suppliers
in 3 different countries (Japan, Italy and USA).
. Reduced equipment costs approx. $2.5 million by working with suppliers to
reduce cost - manual operations for thermoforming, fewer fixtures and mix-
heads for cab foam, etc. and finding local India supplier for some
equipment.
. Consulted with experts in Ft. Smith, Evansville, Brazil, and Italy to
help make supplier selections and also in developing equipment
specifications.
. Worked closely with Product Engineering, Marketing and Finance on project
team to meet conflicting project goals (schedule, capital, product cost
and features).
. Led initiative with equipment suppliers and product engineers to reduce
material cost of refrigerator liners by 21%.
