ADC Telecommunciations, Inc - Meriden Ct - 7/1997 - 5/1999
ADC Telecommunication was an industry leader in providing hardware and
software for wirelsss, fiber optic, LAN, FTTP and FTTN to OEM
customers. Customers included Times/Warner, ATT, Sprint, Verison. .
Meriden facility had annual sales of over $120K and planned sales of
over $150K when I left the company. Employed 350.
Senior Financial Cost Accountant,
I was hired based solely on my overall computer background in finance
and management accounting.
Immediately assigned to the SAP ERP implementation team. SAP is a
large integrated enterprise software system. At that time it dominated
the European and American market - The team consisted of someone who
fully understood the module they would be responsible for
I was assigned the Cost Accounting module - we dedicated 100% of our
time in implementing and testing the system to meet the divisional and
corporate requirement in a very strict timetable. Roughly nine months
ADC had approximately 17 divisions and we were the 3rd to be
implemented. Developed and created dashboards and Business
Intelligence reporting for senior staff.
Along with testing the integrated processes we established work
instructions and training manuals
After completion of the project and going live, I was responsible for
all costing and job costing analysis
Very proud of my accomplishments but felt I needed to expand and grow
outside of management accounting. As we are all aware the
telecommunication industry crashed in 2001. I left in 1999 to help
implement the Yisual manufacturing EREP system at Harco Laboratories
Automotive Controls Corp (Division Of Echlin Inc) - Branford, Ct 4/1982 -
7/1997

the aftermarket. Primary customers would be major distributors like
NAPA and large department chains. Annual revenue over $50M. Employed

efficiency, spending, productivity and utilizations.
Controlled capiral spending of fixed assets and R & D spending
Took the lead in Kaizan, Juran and kanban implementation.
When PC was first introduced I took the immediate initiative to
program the complete budgeting process in the PC - saving weeks of
work
Continued fascination in the early stages of the PC and the declining
market of business lead me to ADC Telecommunication
I needed to understand the next generation of computers away from the
large mainframes into the ERP era
My initial management position. I left Automotive Controls Corp
because of a declining market of replacement automoive ignition parts
due to the advancement of electrical components in automotive
production - away from the mechanical. Echlin was subsequently sold
and the Branford facility closed in 2001
ITT Reserch and Development -Shelton, CT - 4/1981 - 4/1982
ITT was a leader in switchboard type telecommucaiions. The Shelton
facility was mainly an R&D facility. At that time they envisioned
going into the computer chip manufacturing and built a facility -
Wafer Development
I was hired to write up the complete manufacturing process. No
computers at that time and chips was in its infancy.
I completed the project but it took a toll on me traveling from North
haven to Shelton 6 days a week, so I took the opportunity of a
management position in Automotive Controls Corp
Great experience working with, at that time, state of art equipment -
left to pursue management goals
.
Computer Experience

importing/exporting data from the ERP system, Developing complex
