Research Assistant
Under Allison Kaup, PhD & David Ziegler, PhD, we are attempting to understand how cognition and the brain
change in normal aging while developing and testing computerized cognitive training ("brain games") to see if
playing these games can improve thinking skills and brain functioning. In addition, we are u sing EEG measures to
study how cognitive neurotherapeutic approaches (such as a meditation -based computer program) can be beneficial
to deficits in attention processing.

Cal Mania (CalM) Program April 2013-Present
Research Assistant
Under the supervision of Professor Sheri Johnson and Professor Claudia Haase, we are analyzing various positive
emotions via the FacialAction Coding System and implementing them to further enhance our understanding of
positive emotions, especially in those this suffering from manic-like symptoms. I was chosen because I was one of
the few students at UC Berkeley with sufficient background to utilize the Facial Action Coding System (FACS,
Ekman et al., 2002) on live participants.

Awe and Social Perception Lab September 2012-Present
Research Assistant
Under Dr. Paul Piff, we are studying how social hierarchy, inequality, and emotion shape relations between
individuals and groups through the use of naturalistic studies as well as lab studies that require extensive confederate
manipulation.
Selected Key Responsibilities
• Performing extensive literature reviews on social class and inequality
• Editing of video clips that were used for Dr. Piff’s TEDx presentation

UC Berkeley Prosociality Laboratory
Research Assistant 2012-2013
This project, headed by Ursula Beermann, PhD, aimed to reveal how people use humor, smiling and laughter in
order to be kind and helpful toward other people, taking into account self-reports, facial expressions and humor
behavior, and vagal tone.
Selected Key Responsibilities
• Independently conducted large scale data analysis and data entry and conducted extensive literature reviews
spanning multiple topics ranging from social psychology to neuropsychology.
• Led a small team of research assistants and trained them in performing and utilizing various computer
applications (such as analysis of speech in phonetics) as well as various other task involved with lab
protocol.
• Responsible for contacting and recruiting potential participants and running study sessions to collect data.
Selected Key Achievements
Promoted as lead research assistant for effectiveness in training others and understanding of the complex nature of
the research topic and the programs required to analyze it.
Project Vietnam Post Camp
Research Assistant
With the support of 6 other team members, we evaluated the hygienic conditions in rural Vietnamese locations and
assessed the necessary steps to increase hygiene practices and safety especially those within a hospital setting.
Selected Key Responsibilities
• Translating surveys from English to Vietnamese and distribution of surveys to rural Vietnamese villages
• Write a report on the sanitation conditions we observed and possible methods to improve living and heath
conditions.
• Collaborated with local health officials to access pertinent sanitation issues (such as hand washing) that we
saw while we were shadowing doctors in the hospitals.
Admob Summer 2009
Market Analyst Intern
AdMob was a mobile advertising company that was started by an ex-Wharton graduate that connects advertisers
with mobile publishers. They allow advertisers to create and target display banner ads focus on mobile handsets. The
name AdMob is a portmanteau for "advertising on mobile". It was incorporated in 2006 and had headquarters in San
Mateo, California. In June 2011, it was officially acquired by Google for $750 million.

• Analyzed key sales, industry and company metrics to help identify relevant market entry in Asia -Pacific.
• Conducted ad-hoc reports and analysis to assist Head of Mobile in determining future sales and business
development strategies.
