Project Manager / Solution Architect – SIO project
Telia Sonera Broadband Services, Stockholm (S)
Duration: 2008-02 – 2009-09
SIO Project is a fix price project run by three different suppliers to Telia Sonera, one for Billing, one for CRM Siebel
and one for the Service or Integration Platform (IPL). I authored the winning business proposal. The business model
is a combination of on site and near shore resources developing in Novisad, Serbia (TMNS Empiry).
During the project execution phase I acted as a combination of Project Manager and Solution Architect with overall
responsibility.
The purpose of the SIO Project is to develop a new IT platform for Telia Sonera Wholesale business (B2B Channel).
The services exposed though this B2B Channel are Provisioning (Order) and Quote. The core Application in this
solution is Siebel CRM 7.8. Total number of Legacy Applications involved is eight.
Executive Business Rules isolated from the Technical integration solution (IPL).
A product catalogue implemented with BE Database concepts.
As the lead Architect I was responsible for the Data modeling and Data logical mapping between Siebel Data model
and the legacy Data models.
Design, development, test, delivery and support of Integration Handlers (IHs) to the SIO Project and support the
project during test phase. Open Application Group Integration Specification (OAGIS), a canonical business language
for information integration. Main architectural principals imply that the legacy applications within the scope of SIO
Project will not maintain direct point to point connections between each other. In order to decouple them, the
applications will have to obtain the needed data and functionality of other applications through the IPL. To support
reusability, all data sent to the IPL is mapped to OAGIS data format. The IPL decided and established at Telia Sonera
is based on TIBCO Enterprise Message Service (EMS). Tibco EMS is an implementation of the Java Messaging
Service (JMS).
A critical matter is to design and implement a connection to one of the legacy applications offering only a CORBA
IDL API. When there is no off the shelf Adapters available for this specific CORBA implementation I both
Design and Implemented a Tibco standardized SDK Adapter in pure Java. This Adapter offers both
synchronous request/reply services and publication services exposed to the IPL.
The IPL project methodology is Agile and follows Scrum principles.
