EXPERIENCE: Mechatronics (Mechanical/Electrical Design) - Paintball Arena Simulated Bomb
Fall 2013 Goal was to create a “bomb” to be used in a paintball arena for one team to try to disarm
The “bomb” is disarmed when the correct code is entered with wires connected correctly
Blue LEDs light when the correct data is entered in the keypad and red LEDs light with the incorrect data
When the correct code is entered a door opens exposing wires to be connected
A siren sounds when time runs out and LEDs flash the color of the winning team
Bemis Company, Inc. - Senior Design – Film Trim Recycle Process Improvement Winter 2012
Polyethylene trim became statically charged traveling to the grinder causing – Spring 2013
clumping of trim which caused the grinder to jam Implemented a solution in which we
grounded the cyclone to reduce or eliminate the static charge which solved their $300,000 problem
Frito-Lay - Frankfort IN, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Internship Summer 2012
Evaluated and compiled a system to determine a list of “critical spares”
Reduced the level of spare parts inventory which decreased net working capital
Analyzed the “popcorn” line’s slurry waste problem and designed an inline process to solve issue.
The solution required me to design, test, and implement a new liquid flow process pump
Technical Communications - Reducing Paper Usage on Campus Fall 2011
Proposed a solution to the paper waste problem in five classes that 300 students take yearly
Reduced paper used by 40% by implementing e-books and duplex printing
