PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
• Senior Design: Energy Harvesting Hearing Aid Battery – Designed a rechargeable hearing aid battery
that did not require replacement; done by remote recharging.
• EPICS II: iCAST Mobile Torrefaction Plant – Developed a design for a mobile torrefaction plant to
produce renewable energy fuels. The project focuses on bio-energy in the form of torrefied wood or
agricultural waste dried in the absence of oxygen
• EPICS I: Portable Distillery – Developed an inexpensive design for a distillery unit to be used in rugged
terrain by people with low resources in South Africa
