PRECISION MANUFACTURING GROUP, BLASDELL, NY 12/08 – 9/12

Engineering Manager

Led a department of multi-disciplined engineers and technicians in the manufacture of chemically

etched and formed metal parts. Duties of the department included CAD design, review and

interpretation of customer prints. cost quoting for all potential projects, generation of bills and

routes, and new product/process development. Highlights include the successful upgrade of custom

RFQ software to provide usability by far less experienced technicians. Assisted in ISO-9001

compliance registration, and served as an integral part of annual strategic planning initiatives.

Directed recruiting efforts and key personnel hires to raise the service quality and capabilities of the

department to unprecedented levels. The position demanded a high degree of coordination and

synergy between sales and manufacturing groups and reported directly to the VP of Operations.

HABASIT BELTING LLC, BUFFALO, NY 4/04 - 10/08

Manufacturing Engineer

Served as primary costing system expert as related to the manufacture of industrial belting. Duties

included creation and management of Bills and Routes, SVP analysis (Standard Value Produced),

tracking and installation of capital projects, workstation design. Provided the primary analysis for

annual production plan and budget process. Member of the ISO-9001 Quality Team; headed up

scrap reduction initiatives, material variance analysis, and numerous equipment installations;

oversaw and audited monthly cycle count. Gained significant experience with reel to reel

processing, pneumatic process equipment, and textile manufacture.

CARBIDE/GRAPHITE GROUP, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 4/89 - 11/03

Manager of Product and Process Engineering, 10/97 - 11/03

Managed and directed a diverse trio of engineers involved in routine problem solving, cost

reduction, quality improvement, scrap reduction, capital installations, and process efficiency.

Additional administrative duties included performance evaluations, budget preparation, new

employee recruitment, preparation of departmental activity reports and budget requests. The

Product and Process Engineer, 04/89 - 10/97

Responsible for process control and product improvement related to the manufacture of graphite

products in two separate product lines. Routine duties included specification formulation, time

study, methods improvement, firing schedule creation, scrap reduction, data analysis, experimental

product design, and supervision relief duties. Oversaw and developed several equipment

installations involving high temperature processing and measurement. Designed and beta tested

several pilot processes involving forced air cooling, hydraulic control and measurement, crushing

and milling of carbide products, and allocation of electric load demand.
