The majority of my experience has been in medical device design for clean room
manufacturing. I have worked both machine design and product design. This has
helped me excel in both fields, knowing how to design parts for manufacture,
knowing how to work with product design to give them the best machine/fixture to
bring their design to fruition.
Following is a brief list of equipment I have designed and worked on.
Packaging equipment for the pharmaceutical industry, including working with
outside vendors to spec robotic equipment, conveyors, air cylinders, stepper
and servo motors.
Team involvement to develop a Disc Arthroplasty System to replace abnormal
lower back disc nucleus with a 2-part curable polymer balloon catheter.

End effectors for robotic application, also assuring the robot and end effectors
paths are obstructive free.
Semi-automated assembly line for a lithium battery power source in medical
Experience
devices, utilizing a chain link carousel, pick and place robots, presses and a
small web handling line.
Automated web handling machine that fabricated and packaged 600
transdermal patches per minute. The process included slitting, complex web
guiding, die cutting, accurate placement of discrete parts between moving
webs, heat-sealing, and thickness inspection. This included project managing
the project, 2 other designers and a detailer.
R&D automated laser powered stent cutting machine. (multi axies of operation
for any future needs that might arise)
Designed small fixturing and tooling for balloon catheters, guide wires, stents
and water purification.
Custom servomotors to customers’ specifications.
CAD documentation and working in a parallel effort with quality control to set
up a documentation system for FDA traceability of document changes using
SolidWorks, and PDMworks software packages.
Implementing SolidWorks, including border and keyboard standardization.
