Work Experience

Nov 20 – present : Personnel Care Bank Barnet, live-in care with 90 years old men in Palmers Green, temporary work. He has dementia, 6 days a week with one day off.

2nd May – 1st Nov: Care Home in Hadley Wood as Care. Permanent and full-time job, team work mostly like all the other homes, with both elder men and woman residents. Early and late shifts and sometimes night work. More than 50 hours per week.

20th January 2013 – 30th April: Since my previous client passed away on 18th January, I have undertaken various temporary assignments whilst looking for full time permanent work. From 20th January – 3rd February, I looked after a 92 year old gentleman client as a live-in carer while the permanent carer was on holiday.(Agency: HelpHomeCare). Since then I have undertaken ad hoc temporary work that involves both Home Care Support Work as well as live-in carer work working for elderly lady and gentlemen clients.(Agency; Blue Bird Care Agency – New Barnet).

July 2009- 18th January 2013: Full time Live-In Carer for elderly lady client in Barnet with Advanced Dementia

For three and a half years, I looked after and was a companion to Mrs Francu who was frail and suffered from dementia and osteoporosis. She needed help with day to day care and living. When I first started I helped with day to day requirements including to wash and dress but as her condition deteriorated, I had to do more and more for her as she was not capable. In 2012 she became immobile and it then required that I wash and dress her with use of a hoist and hospital bed. I prepared home cooked meals and kept the house immaculately clean. I liaised with her daughter on a regular basis. I worked well with other carers when required (two people are required to operate a hoist).In January 2013, sadly Mrs Francu died in hospital at the age of 92. I was proud to have enabled her to remain in her own home until the end. Other responsibilities included prompting/ administering medication and monitoring her health. In this role I provided some basic nursing care eg. changing dressing.

September 2008 - April 2009: Full time Live-in Carer for elderly lady client Romford with Advanced Dementia

I looked after Mrs Eisenberg, an elderly lady suffering from advanced dementia. She was 90 years old, bed-ridden + unable to speak. Responsibilities included administering medication, preparing Kosher meals,helping her to eat and being a companion.

June 2007- June 2008: Full time Care assistant for elderly lady client living in Camberley - the client suffered from alcoholism and dementia
