Pfenex, Inc. - Laboratory Assistant (8/12/10 - 8/27/10, 1/23/12- 6/8/12) (Kelly Scientific contract

position)

• Duties: Glassware washing, autoclaving of bio-waste, glassware, media, eppendorf tips &

tubes. Deliver mail to office area. Ordering and receiving lab supplies.

Prometheus Labs – Lab Processing Technician I (12/7/10- 3/31/11) (Suna Solutions contract position)

• Duties: Accessioning of patient samples; and lab support services with a focus on Clinical

Study samples. This includes opening sample kits and verifying the contents and shipping

conditions for accuracy; recording information on both associated paperwork and in company

databases; printing labels on Brady BBP81; organizing, inventorying clinical study samples.

Gen-Probe Inc. – Laboratory Assistant (2003 – 2009)

• Duties: Glassware washing, solution preparation, and autoclaving. Ordering, receiving

and stocking of multiple labs. Chemical inventory. Defrost and decontamination of cold

storage units. Flushing eyewash stations and DI ports. Clean lab spaces.

Inova Diagnostics – Laboratory Assistant (2000 – 2003)

• Duties: Glassware and microscope slide washing. Autoclave validation. Assist in the

manufacturing of IFA slides. Set-up, operate and clean Neutrophil Machine; tap the 12 well

Neutrophil slides, load Hep-2 slides into incubators; Hep-2 fixation.

• Duties: Breeding management, health monitoring and medical treatment of transgenic mice.

Maintaining animal care records (census, inventory, health, etc.)

• Duties: Daily husbandry, and medical treatment of transgenic and knockout mice and care

of SPF (specific pathogen free), rabbits, rodents. Equipment operation (autoclave, cage

washer).

The Salk Institute – Laboratory Technician (1994 – 1997)

• Duties: Primary care of non-VAF (viral antibody free rats and mice). Weekend and

supplemental care to rodents and various types of transgenic and knockout mice.
