Client Network Services Inc. (CNSI) - Census Bureau 12th Apr 2010 -
8th Jul 2011
Sr. Oracle Developer
Ms. Dav has been working for TMO at the U.S. Census Bureau since April of
2010 and has worked the following projects:
Audit Monitoring System (AMS) System - Ms. Dave was involved in Design,
Development and Documentation of the Audit Monitoring System (AMS). The AMS
system was created to meet the new security requirements that were put into
effect at the Census Bureau. To meet these security requirements, the
applications ROSCO, CARMN and DAD were coded to produce audit records that
should be reviewed in the AMS System for indications of inappropriate or
unusual events and activities. The information for events and activities
that have occurred in each system was collected, the source of those events
and activities and their respective outcomes. The Audit Monitoring System
has to be used by the Auditor to review these unusual events and activities
and take any security measures if required. Certain events and activities
were marked as Must Review (which the Auditor has to review) and some of
them were Auto-Notify (The Auditors were notified by email). The other
optional review events and activities are not compulsory to be reviewed by
the auditor. Other data entry and user profile screens are also part of the
AMS System. The system also generates related reports for the users. This
system had to satisfy all of the security controls set forth by the Census
IT Security Office relating to the Audit family of the National Institute
of Standards and Technology (NSIT) Security Controls. The database used for
this system was Oracle 10g and the system was developed using Oracle 10g
Developer Suite (10.1.2.02) involving Forms and Reports as well as Oracle
SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.45 and TOAD for Oracle 9.6.1. ReflectionX 14.0.7
was used to access UNIX code. PVCS Version Manager 8.3.0.00 was used to
check in the code. Oracle Forms, Reports, stored database procedures,
packages, and functions were used to code the system. The documentation
involved Design, Specifications and detailed Process Flow Diagrams using
Microsoft Visio for every main component and screens of the system.
Detailed Unit Testing documents were also created. User Demo documentation
and presentation was created to demo the system to the users.
Cost and Response Management Network (CARMN) System - Ms. Dav was involved
in maintenance, production support and new releases for the CARMN System.
She also worked on creating documentation for existing as well as new
functionality for CARMN. CARMN is a financial management system that
delivers real-time survey cost and progress reports enabling cost modeling,
cost reduction and response rate improvement for Managers of the Regional
and Headquarters Field Representatives. CARMN was developed to provide
timely reports to managers providing real-time information used to make
management decisions that impact responses and survey/project costs. CARMN
uses data from different existing systems like Field Representative
Earnings Data (FRED) to calculate Field costs using hours, miles and
reimbursable data from FRED (FRED is a DOS-based application for collecting
payroll and reimbursement data from the FRs), pay rate data from the
National Finance Center (NFC), case management information from the
Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) system and object class
information from the Commerce Administrative Management System (CAMS). The
FR's transmit their payroll information to the Human Resources Division
(HRD) on a daily basis. CARMN receives a daily FRED transmission from HRD
which enables the system to provide real-time reports.
Dangerous Address Database (DAD) System - Ms. Dav was involved in
maintenance, production support and new releases for the DAD System. DAD is
a Regional Office (RO) Database system designed by a team of RO and
Headquarters employees used to track, maintain and identify addresses where
Field Employees may encounter a potential personal safety risk. When an
address is identified as having a potential personal safety risk, the RO
Survey Supervisor submits the address to DAD through the Regional Office
Survey Control (ROSCO) system, along with the FR's and RO's notes. After
submission an automated email is sent via Lotus Notes to each RO DAD
Approving Official alerting the official of the dangerous address. The
approving official then enters instructions for the FR's on how to handle
the address and flags the address as Cease Interview or Interview with
Caution.
Technology and Tools used at Census: Oracle 10g Developer Suite (10.1.2.02)
involving Forms, Reports and SQL*PLUS, Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.45,

Microsoft Visio Professional 2007, Microsoft Word & Excel.
Dynamic Technology Systems (DTS) - Army 16th Jan 2008 - 9th Apr 2010
Principal Technical Resource
Ms. Dav worked on the following systems at DTS. This project was for the
Army.
Publishing Records and Tracking Application (PRTA) - Ms. Dav worked as a
Database Developer and Database Administrator for Dynamic Technology
Systems. PRTA is a web-based system which maintains metadata for the Army
publishing products. She was involved in the conversion of all the tables,
views, procedures, packages and triggers from SQL Server database to the
DB2 database. She was also involved with new development of functionality
involving packages, procedures and triggers for the system. Her work also
involved day to day administration, maintenance, performance tuning,
trouble shooting and backups of the DB2 database on a weekly basis. Tasks
also involved reloading of data provided in files by the client into the
database of a regular basis. Program units were also written to provide the
client with reports from the database which were sent to them on a weekly
or monthly basis depending on the requirement. Visual Basic and VB. NET was
also used for coding many packages. Many packages were also scheduled to
run automatically on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.
Web Services for PRTA - Ms. Dav led the project for Web Services for PRTA.
The Web Services were written so that part of the PRTA system which was
code by Enterprise Management System, Inc. (EIM) could access data from the
database for PRTA. Calls were made to and from the database as Get and Set
to fetch and store data into our database at PRTA. The project was started
in Java but was then migrated to .NET due to a management decision to save
cost on new servers since we already had a .NET server being maintained.
Technology and Tools used at DTS: Visual Basic, VB.Net, Java, DB2, SQL
Server, TOAD and Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio.

and triggers and back end database involved Oracle 10g and TOAD.
Social Security System (SSA System - Social Security Benefits Software for
B&B)
Ms. Dav worked on another project for Binder and Binder - Social Security
System (SSA System). She was involved in management of this project and
timely delivery of software including Requirements gathering, code and
design reviews, analysis and delivery of enhancements on a daily basis.
This involved interaction with the client everyday. Her daily work also
involved maintenance of the software, trouble shooting, bug fixes,
monitoring and performance tuning. Involved interaction with the client
daily to fulfill the responsibility of installation on new code on the
client production servers as well as Quality Assurance Testing of the
product delivered. She also participated in design meetings for discussion
and decision of future enhancements and new projects. She was involved with
data analysis and improvement of the database and business processes on a
regular basis. She was also involved with documentation of new as well as
existing functionality of the product. She solely worked on new projects
that involved automation of the system like automatic email notification to
the client and lawyers when a checkbox in the software is checked by the
users.
Both the above applications were used to enter data and information
regarding potential clients and clients filing for Social Security benefits
through Binder and Binder using Oracle Forms 10g and Oracle 10g as backend.
The case workers of Binder and Binder were able to maintain a diary
(running work log) of their calls to clients using the software. The System
maintained all the SSA and VA Social Security Benefits Forms which were
developed using Oracle Forms and Reports. The System also maintained all
the letters that were used to send the clients which were developed using
Oracle Reports. Oracle Reports was used to print the report. The report
could be customized to print what the user required. The System was
designed to alert the users when some deadline was reached for filing a
claim. Data for various levels of Claim Filing as well as court proceedings
were saved in the system using Oracle Forms.
