Systems Engineer
Experienced in creating, training and providing support to multi-national
teams for profitable global manufacturing. Able to juggle multiple and
conflicting priorities to accomplish tasks.
Summary: Accomplished professional and leader in information technology,
supporting manufacturing with 28 years of progressively successful, global
experience.
Skills:
VMware vSphere v5.1 used to Configure, and Manage clients on VMware
host/server
Disaster Recovery experience:
At GE in Albuquerque, NM the data center was on the flight path of the
local airport. We
came up with a plan based on nightly full backups and a contract with a
vendor, Provident
that would provide an 18 wheeler truck with the H/W to replicate our
data center and plug
it into the plant network that was located far away from the building
that housed the data
center.
At Coventry Health care we initially had a situation similar to GE and we
modified it to
include a "hot" data center backup between Pittsburgh and Phoenix
replicating the H/W and
using EMC VMAX SANs for data replication
Infrastructure experience:
Decommission rack mounted servers and convert to Blade Servers
(BL890,BL870,BL860,BL460,etc.). Work with network engineers to convert to
10Gb Ethernet.
Team and Project management:
While working as an "expat" employee for Intel Corporation built and
trained multicultural
and cross functional teams to support new factory production. Later
helped convert this
multinational team to a "follow the sun" support model for all overseas
factories. Used Intel
7 step method of project management to report progress to upper
management
Systems Adminstrator/Analyst experience:
Wrote scripts to regulate and control inter process and inter computer
communication that
regulate WIP in Intel factories, including tasks like being IP stack
expert for certain Oss used
in Intel manufacturing.
