Title- Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant 20 years exp.

Objective- To obtain a position where I can effectively utilize my excellent phlebotomy skills, specimen

processing knowledge, office experience and superior patient care abilities.

Summary of Qualifications

Phlebotomy- Perform venipuncture on patients of all ages and conditions. Utilize standard procedure for the

maintenance of positive patient identification and universal precautions. Perform venipuncture efficiently during

stressfull situations such as Trauma, Stroke Alert, Cardiac Alert and in E.R.

Specimen Processing- Enter all specimen information into computer and deliver them to the appropriate

departments for processing. I have experience in preparing specimens for “send out” to outside laboratories.

Lab Office- Extensive office experience within lab. Utilizing the computer for receiving specimens, accessing

lab orders, identifying and rectifying lab order errors and generating labels for distribution to phlebotomists.

Communicating with nursing staff, doctor’s offices and laboratory staff.

Out Patient- Perform venipuncture on out patients. Interpret prescriptions, order tests in the computer and

deliver them to appropriate departments.

Training- Extensive experience in training new hires and students.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Delray Medical Hospital (2007-Present)

Duties- Perform venipuncture on patients throughout the hospital. Receive specimens and delivering them to the

appropriate departments. Check lab orders, generate labels and organize them for distribution to phlebotomy

staff. Communicate with nursing concerning line draws, lab orders and other patient issues. Answer phones and

fax results.

Munroe Regional Hospital (2005-2007)

Duties- Performed phlebotomy throughout the hospital, including a high level of pediatric patients. Received

specimens and distibuted them to appropriate departments. Maintained lab supplies.

University Hospital (2003-2004)

Duties- Performed phlebotomy on patients throughout hospital. Received specimens and distributed them to

appropriate departments.

HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital (1990-1999)

Duties- Performed venipuncture on patients throughout the hospital. Received specimens and distributed them to

appropriate departments. Prepared “send out” specimens for delivery to outside laboratories. Set up specimens for

cultures and prepared slides. Ordered all lab supplies.

CERTIFICATION- Phlebotomy certification
