I am an accomplished Data Analyst/Programmer, with several years experience in various languages.

I consider myself to be a very hard working mature individual who is capable of working on my own

initiative without supervision or as part of a team. I am able to work under pressure and to a deadline. I

am also able to adapt to new systems, applications or programming languages. I pride myself in

producing quality work and excellent attendance records.

My main experience has been in AIX UNIX/UNIX Solaris and LINUX using C++ and COBOL. I have

also used other programming languages such as C# and “C”. I have had experience of using

Microsoft office applications such as ACCESS, EXCEL and WORD.

Current Experience July 2011 – Present

I have been freelancing for a data processing agency, using Cygnus and Printshop Mail for

document composition. I have also been developing software for data processing.

Development of specialized data processing software for file sorting and file viewing.

The main projects are for viewing fixed and variable length data, producing statistics and layouts on data,

mailsortation and general data cleansing.

Software development using C# and SQL(Linq) in Visual Studio.

My job specialized in producing high volume mailings for banks, building societies charities, super markets and

The main programming tools that I used were, C++ and COBOL in a UNIX environment.

My responsibilities were, writing and maintaining bespoke software to customer’s specification. Developing

testing and maintaining utilities. Testing and checking colleagues work. Updating and maintaining customers

databases. Data cleansing (MPS,GONE AWAYS etc..) using various tools including Quick Address. Analyzing

and preparing data. Preparing and writing documentation. Document composition using PreS. Attending

meetings with customers and colleagues.

In my time with this company, I have been mainly programming with Micro Focus COBOL and C++ in AIX

UNIX and UNIX Solaris environments. I have also been using PReS for document composition.
