PROJECT COMPLETED DURING BE:

DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF PEDAL OPERATED GRAIN MILL

Abstract-

It is general observation that the customers are waiting to get flour in a mill and these mills

are driven by power. So keeping this fact in mind, we come across with this project. This

machine not uses electricity and can be connected to power source when power is available.

The machine is driven by pedaling operation. The machine consists of power unit (pedal),

transmission unit (chain drive-belt drive can also be used but we preferred chain drive since

center distance is too small) and processing unit (rotary burr & stationary burr).

When shaft is rotated by pedaling the frictional force induces between two burrs and these

forces are required to get the crushing of grains.

The advantages of this machine are, It is simple in construction, Can get flour at real time,

Scrap materials can be used, No need of electricity etc. It has some disadvantages like,

chains to be lubricated periodically.

The major application of this machine is that it can be installed in home and it also provides

exercise.
